Seibertron.com is on track for one of our largest traffic days ever!

The site's traffic has been through the roof lately. Posting galleries like MP-4 Convoy and MP-5 Megatron has really helped with today's traffic as well.

Just to give you an idea of where this site was ...

On May 20th, 2003, Seibertron.com started to average around 100,000 pageviews per day. From around 2004 through the end of summer 2006, the site averaged around 150,000 pageviews per day. By October 1st, the site started hovering around 180,000 pageviews per day. Since January 1st, 2007, the site has not dipped below 200,000 pageviews per day. During the past few weeks, the site has averaged about 250,000+ pageviews per day.

As for today ... we've already done 228,000+ pageviews for today as of this post with about 9.5 hours to go. The traffic tracking is on Pacific time so it goes until 2am Central / 12am Pacific. We are all set to clear over 300,000+ pageviews today which has only happened a dozen or so times in this site's history.

It's numbers like this that let me know that Movie mania is officially here and that you guys like all of the hard work that the entire staff puts into this site from the news section to HMW to the RPG section to the VSD to the Forums and, of course, the toy galleries which have become one of the site's primary sources of traffic.

I can't wait to see how crazy the site's traffic is come July when Transformers-mania is at its peak. The more traffic that comes to the site, the harder I want to work to make sure that we keep everyone coming back.

Must ... find ... way ... to ... clone ... entire ... staff!!!!

On that note, I'm on my way home from work right now. I've got some more galleries to share with everyone tonight.

In the words of Stimpy: Joy!

This is most certainly a group effort between the staff as well as the users. We should all be very proud of these numbers and be very excited about the future of the hobby. It's very cool to see the staff do things that directly affect the site's traffic ... that's how we can measure our level of success and figure out if people like what we're doing or not.

You seem to forget who's on the HMW Support Staff. Surely they'd fall under the cloning category.
And now that i've traumatised Mkall and hopefully Fender Bender, i'm off to work! mwahahaha

This is awsome news. Working with the current staff and other staff members who have helped in the past has been a blast.

Holy crap... THAT"S AWESOME!!!!;)^

And the scary part is the movie hasn't even come out yet. After that, I'd expect a surge that'd have the potential to overload the server if the staff isn't first... 1 MILLION IN A DAY!?!?!?! This is one of the few times I think all caps is necessary.

I personally recommend immediate emergency deputy-ship of any mature posters with at least 2 years of experience and 3000 posts.

I wonder who fits that description... :-? ...Do't worry-- I'm not mature.

Here's some more interesting #s ...

#of UNIQUE Visitors
-----------------------
Week of March 18th: 50,544
Week of March 25th: 63,823
Week of April 1st: 41,006 (incomplete only 3.75 days of data)

#of Pageviews (1st full week of month)
-----------------------
Week of August 6th: 1,097,049
Week of October 1st: 1,664,148 (Botcon)
Week of November 5th: 1,246,231
Week of December 3rd: 1,209,027
Week of January 7th: 1,380,035
Week of February 4th: 1,850,245 (Toy Fair)
Week of March 4th: 1,634,815
Week of April 1st: 1,055,123 (incomplete only 3.75 days of data)

The weekly data for the pageviews demonstrates the upward trend of the site over the past 8 months (excluding Botcon and the Toy Fair weeks). As a programmer, I love numbers like this ... as well as trends. Maybe I should have been a broker since I love numbers so much (they deal with financial trends right?).

If you look carefully, I've already shanked you with my saber. GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER!

I hate to burst your bubble, Seibs, but Penny Arcade gets around 2 million pageviews per day, NOT INCLUDING forum traffic.

Let's beat them, shall we?

Just broke 308,030 for the day so far. 6 hours to go. Could be the biggest day ever at this pace.

Catching up with PennyArcade.com would be awesome!

Seibertron.com is ranked as the 34,832nd most popular site on the 'net according to Alexa.com.

http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traff ... ertron.com

Penny-Arcade.com is ranked as the 2,116th most popular site on the 'net. That will be quite a challenge. I'd just be happy to get into the top 10,000 on the 'net.

To snip a scene from the Simpsons...

Bart: "Wow! Our website's the most popular non-pornographic one on the web!"

Homer: "Which takes it into the top 1,000,000 over all!" :P

We ended at 378,810 pageviews. I'm pretty sure that's the largest single day total by about 20,000 pageviews since I started tracking the traffic with Google Analytics. That's pretty amazing that Megatron and Convoy's galleries were able to help increase the traffic by that much. Tuesday's traffic was only 259,975 pageviews which has been around our average for the past week or so.

Thanks, Leonardo. I really appreciate it!
