Are you prepared for a Zombie attack?

Given all the doomsday scenario, Astroid hitting the earth, big earth quakes, global warming, nuclear war, nobody has giving much thought to the very real possiblity of the dead coming back to life and attacking the living.

I think it's rediculous that non of the major presidential canidate has addressed the issue of our population being wiped out by a zombie outbreak. Since the polititians obvoiusly don't care since they have access to huge underground bunkers, we are left to fend for ourselves in our wooden houses with glass windws. Glass windows BTW, are easily broken into by zombies.

that's why it's always handy to have some pieces of double-thick plywood and some planks ready...if there's one thing NOTLD taught us , it's handy to barricade our glass windows with heavy wood.

:MAX:

Damn tis topic is un-frakin-dying I started one of these threads over a year ago.

Sigh

Anywho yes i am prepared, I have access to fire arms and horses I reckon a caravan of horses around the Irish hills would work, and itd have a cool wildwest vibe to it.

I totally missed that thread. I'm going to have to look at it when I have more time. Anyway, if you're truly interested, check out The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks. Fantastically fun book!

About a two minute drive from me, there's a store called Meijers (It's kind of like Wal*Mart, but less Evil, and there's more in Michigan than anywhere else, so it's pretty much local). Now, assuming I get there at about the same time as the people from Dawn of the Dead, I'd be pretty good. Near any of the automatic doors are freakishly heavy bags of salt, during any time of the years. (normally used for melting ice on driveways) Block the automatic doors with those, and barricade all but one of the entrances. (To allow visitors and refugees, and also for forcing Zombies into a bottleneck, so they're easier to take down)

Otherwise, there's more than enough food (If we rationalize well enough), and also a sports section, complete with hunting rifles. There's a food court, so we can cook the food, and a section with complete cooking supplies. The electronics section has computers, along with radios and networking equipment, so we can probably rig up a video security system, as well as send out distress signals. There's a full stock of games there as well, so we could use that as stress relief. (Something just as necessary as food)

There's also gardening supplies, meaning makeshift melee weapons: Axes, shovels, pick-axes, etc. It would also be handy to make a small farm, so food would be in constant supply. (Water would be boiled and purified to make sure there's no water-based infection)

During the summer, we would have to hide out in the store. However, during Winter, when the Zombies become mostly immobile, would be the time to go out and collect supplies, possibly expand defenses from the outside, as well as killing as many zombies as possible, and search for survivors.

That's about all I got so far.

LOL, dude you're **** prepared! B-)

I dunno about you guys, but i'm pretty sure Michael Bay's one involves lots of big explosions. Like, blowing up the whole Earth to bits.... :P

I think I'd prepare my learning to fly a plane.

Then, we head to a department store, stock up on supplies and ammo, and head to the airport.

We take the plane to one of the following:

a) An island unlikely to have a zombie populace (or a small one), and wipe em out.

b) Hook up with Shadowman's team and clear a town.

Anyone ever see I am legend? Setting a town up like that one at the end is ideal for survival.

This whole scenario makes me think of Dead rising for the xbox 360.

And on that note I am locking this (but let's keep the conversation going there)..

But before I do I have to say what I have said before..

No matter how much we say we would be prepared we would not.
Perfect example is the beginning of the original Dawn of the Dead (which I watched again yesterday), there is mass chaos, no one wants to believe what is going on, and people are angry and confused.

Unless you have some sort of underground bunker and at least supplies to last for a year survival would be difficult. And then, you would have to have enough gas to run generators because after some time the power plants would shut down.

As much as we like to think we would have a grip on things, they would hit so fast, sudden and hard that we would all be un-prepared.
