ReBoot Movies are Underway!

Apparently the first steps to the ReBoot movie(s) are being taken!

I highly recommend that fans post constructive comments (no mindless negative bashing please, ReBoot fans are better then that!) reminding Rainmaker that we understand the need to create something that will appeal to a new audience, but we also understand that including the old crew would help make older fans of the series more comfortable and would also allow it to retain some of the feel of the original.

I don't want to steal the limelight from Endian's awesome Valentine's Day post, but I have awesome news. The ReBoot movie is a definite go. I know this because Paul Gertz (head of Rainmaker Animation) just called and invited me to pitch script ideas!

That's right - on Monday, February 25th at 10:30 AM, I will pitch ideas to Rainmaker for the new ReBoot movie(s). I say "movie(s)" because I forgot to ask how many movies they intend to make. I remember Paul saying they wanted to make a trilogy but I'm not sure that's still the plan.

Paul told me that he's inviting several other established writers to pitch as well, so once I again I must go toe-to-toe with my peers. However, I'm feeling a little more confident this go-round; I seriously doubt there's many other writers out there who've been as steeped in ReBoot for the last 6 months as I have - who have as keen an insight into the characters, genre, world, and fanbase as I have.

Furthermore, I've got an ace up my sleeve: I know where the ReBoot comic is going and can possibly tie that into the pitch. None of the other writers can do that. Even so, I've got a lot of work ahead of me and not very much time (10 days).

Life just got busy again, and not a moment too soon: I was starting to get antsy. :)

Wish me luck, folks!

Finally, just give the series a decent ending. Though I imagine a lot of fans just gave up on it.

Well, they definately need to start from where My Two Bobs left off. That was a huge cliffhanger, and cliffhangers are not endings. Your 4th grade English teacher can tell you that. I'm glad they'e doing more movies. I just hope the actors return. It would be really wierd to hear different voices coming out of Bob and Dot. I wonder what the graphics will be like. It's been a decade since the last ReBoot movie?! Should look fantastic.

I think this is a total... uh... reboot of the series. Cater to a new audience, you know?

And Tony Jay (Megabyte) passed away a while ago...

Well, that sucks. They should give the series a proper ending before starting a new one.

Ah, they will. I completely forgot.

A web comic will carry on (and finish, hopefully) the original story, while three new movies will start the series anew.

Apparently 'The Hunt' launched by Megabyte has encompassed the whole Net. Get's your heart pumping, huh? ;)
