We have AVG free addition for a firewall now. Now that we have high speed do we need to do anything else or is that still ok. I wondered if I needed something else since I am no longer using dial up.

A connection to the internet is a conection to the internet, as far as a virus is concerned. You're logged on either by dialing up or by being part of a network all the time, you're still logged on.

Use the firewall software you trust. If there's a virus that makes better use of high speed for data transfer, it would have gone onto your computer no matter what connection, and your firewall software will either protect it or it won't. If you trust it, use it.

But, I could be wrong...

recomend dont just put your trust in the firewall you do you may get virus, rojan or anything look for another virus solution while keeping avg on your computer my laptopn i have and use comodo products there free, spyware terminator, avg, http://www.lavasoft.com/ free edition or pro, kaspersky is another great one anti phishing, spyware, firewall, virus, trjan, scanners, and couple other options i cant think of at this time these programs wont interfer with avg
