what movies would make good cartoon shows?

Over the years we've seen animated shows spined-off of or based/inspired by hit movies ike Ghostbusters, Men in Black, Back to the Future, The Lion King, The Mask, Beetlejuice, etc.

Anyway, is there any movie you could see working well as an animated series?

I would actually like to see a show inspired by the Rush Hour movies done in the animation style of Jackie Chan Adaventures and probably with Bumper Robinson voicing the Chris Tukcer character Carter. I don't think it would last more than one season though.

I would've liked to have seen an animated spin-off to Independence Day that focused on the aftermath of the movie and more on the aliens, maybe even an episode on the aliens side of the story and not the humans but like Rush Hour I wouldn't see it get passed season one.

Here's another one that really surprises me, Indiana Jones. I wonder why they didn't make an animated series based off it especially when it was in it's hayday int he 1980's. Indy Jones animated would have been a perfect Saturday Morning cartoon! Well I think something like that could actually happen depending ont he sucess of the new movie but that's me.

And while it's not my idea, a good friend of mine said he'd like to see an animated spin-off to the movie Jumper, I agree with that one, could have potential there.

Also, Mission: Impossible. That would be cool.

Lord of The Rings!

oh wait, they already did that.

How about ID4, Pirates, Tank Girl, Austin Powers, The Crow, Joe's Apartment, Labrynth, Six String Samuri, Unbreakable, Dune, Blade, Gremlins, a horror sci-fi series that redoes all those old black and white B movies like Killer Shrews, Attack of The Giant Leeches, Killer Skull and so on...

There are tons more like RatRace and Johnny Dangerously, but I'm tired of listing things in my DVD cabinet :D

Good ideas! Especially Austin Powers. That would be funny.

How 'bout an Army of Darkness show?
it could be like the comic-books. Every episode, Ash goes to a different dimension.
Also, I want another Evil Dead video game.

I think Jumper would definately work better as a mini-series, than a trilogy.
first one sucked cause the story was too short. also Hayden can't act. but Jumper still would make a cool cartoon.

I like Liege's idea of retelling all of the old 50s B movies in a weekly cartoon.
it'd be like the Twilight Zone with animation and B-Movie plots.

And a continuation of Star Wars. because Lucas doesn't listen to his fans, I heard his new show is gonna be all CG and is gonna take place during the Clone Wars. I'd rather have something taking place during the original trilogy, done by the people who did the Clone Wars mini series. Though that would get in the way of Samurai Jack: The Movie.

Bruce Campbell should be guest voice actor for TF: Animated.
1. his voice is awesome.
2. his animated character could look a lot like him, he already has a huge chin
3. Bruce Campbell cameos are awesome. watch Megas XLR.

You know, when you think about it, the Jackie Chan Adventures style could probably adapt a lot of action flicks.

What I prefer is Live action movies to animated show. Animated movies to animated show is usually a huge step down.

I'd say Mortal Kombat (I know, I know, its a game first and movie second), but that would end up being basically the same as Avatar: The Last Airbender.

I miss the old Bill and Ted cartoon. And I'd like to see them bring the Clerks cartoon back.

Other than them, the only movies I can think of weren't movies to begin with: Resident Evil and Tenacious D. Both would probably be HBO cartoons, but good ones, I think.

And maybe Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. Somehow they could parlay that into a series. :P

A Tartakovsky-produced Indiana Jones series would be awesome.

For that matter, I'd like to see a SW 'toon done in a more conventional style (maybe a DIC/Dong Woo production) focusing on Han and Chewie's (mis)adventures up to A New Hope.

Also, an anime version of Robocop. It couldn't possibly fare any worse than any of the sequels and TV versions they've made over here since the first movie, and would probably be more in line with the first movie than any of them.
