Well, the figures you could but at Walmart and such are toys in every manner.
But the more complex kits you buy from hobby shops are more collectables, because of the model aspect, building thema and such. They are best left as displays, even if you could play with them.

In the case of yours, pics would help.

The true figures that you would have found in the aisle next to Power Rangers and other robots are for play, but they look very nice on display too. The last few I got a couple years ago are still on card just because Gundam isn't selling in U.S. retail anymore. Depending on what figure yours is, condition, it could be a collectible.

But if you built it yourself, it was a model kit. Then of course it isn't so much a toy, and is a display piece/collectible.

Bandai stopped selling Gundam in the US because they couldn't get G Gundam figures off of shelves. Which means when/if they make an MSiA Gaplant, I'm going to have to sell a kidney to buy it.

The difference between Collectible and Action Figure is based on three things: Size, Complexity, and Price. A PG 1/60 Psycho Gundam, for example, is a collectible. (Both in that it's giant, and that I'm sure they don't make one, and if they did, it would be both wonderfully complex and horribly expensive)

I don't. G Gundam was waaaay too close to DBZ to be anything good, right down to the Hyper Mode/Super Saiyan.

I disagree G Gundam was an interesting way to fit a gundam and martial art series in one. I mean the Hyper Mode did copy it, but it was kinda of a good series.

Right now I just finished the last episode of Gundam 00 for season 1, and it was damn amazing! Great series, can't wait until season 2!

I think I would buy a hot pink shining Gundam if it meant Gundam would be on US shelves again… :-(

The only thing good about it was that it warned people that things would chang, and that UC would only serve as a template.

They could have attached any name to it other than Gundam, and no one would have batted an eyelash. It had horrible suit design, and was waaay too much of a departure from every other Universe.

I'd be watching it now, but Mendoi-Conclave/Menclave hasn't even finished Episode 23. I mean, I kno what basically happens, an it does sound epic, (MAHQ gave episode 23 a 5/5) I just haven't seen it yet. I can't complain, though, since I'm not paying for it.

Here you go, you'll need to download CCC to watch the episodes from here, but its better then waiting.

23 was a damn good episode, but it was kinda sad.............you'll know what i mean. 23-25 are epic episodes, it gives season 2 a lot of hype.

Oddly, I'm already torrenting episodes 23-25 from the same source. All three will be ready by morning.

I was expecting Lockon would survive. He was cool, easily likable, and Irish. You don't see enough mech-piloting Irish snipers in...well, anything.

Problem with Gundam in America, they spoiled so many kids on Wing that kids thought Gundam was all about five Gundams and if there were less than five and they weren't blowing stuff up left and right, they weren't interested. UC, you had the Gundams actually struggling against Zaku's, Goufs, and Doms, etc. (these were the grunt suits of "Kill'em all" Tomino's reign and they were actually good for ahwile until Amuro or Kamille became an ace.)

Kids weren't interested in the classic MSG with dated animation, which is most likely why we never got Zeta and ZZ sooner (not to mention Zeta would've been butchered beyond recognition if put on CN). G Gundam was interesting, but if they really wanted to try and keep audiences interested, they should've gone with Gundam X late night while G Gundam took the afternoon slot. Then they'd probably have had more of an audience left for Seed.

But seriously, if CN ever considered a Gundam revival on their channel, 00 on Adult Swim is the best way to go. The cliffhangar actually leaves you wanting more. besides:

We know Setsuna will make a miraculous comeback and probably with a prosthetic arm given the nasty injury he sustained fighting Graham now a at the end. With Cobra Comma... erm... Graham and Ali still alive and the stuff with Saji left unresovled, it's too early to kill him. The question is how. Most likely scenario is Felt, the doc, and Sumeragi find him and get him the attention needed, while laying low. Given we know the doc is still alive and knows the location of ) Gundam this is probably the most likely scenario. Se don't see Sumeragi and Felt int he preview, this could hint at how Setsuna survives and indicate he's with them. But one thing is certain, they need a new fan-service bridge bunny with Christina dead.

Plus with Setsuna undoubtably coming back and Tieria being the only other Meister with a story worth telling that's still alive, they're gonna need to fill spots left by Lockon and All/Hall. Nena will probably fill Lockon's spot if she's not working for Rivonz. And if I were to nominate anyone else for a Meister, I'd go between Soma and Saji.

Destiny wouldn't last half way through it's run due to ratings.

A few non-Gundam suits could stand up to Gundams, but they were usually specialized and/or one-of-a-kind suits, and were usually, but not always, built by Scirocco. The man knew his way around mech design.

Speaking of, did anyone els notice how the Jupitris appeared in Gundam 00? It's very obvious. I mean, aside form the massive damage, it's pretty much the same ship.

They did a dub for Zeta, and it was pretty well done. I assumed they knew they'd never get it on TV, and that they were pretty much releasing it for the sake of releasing it.

I've been wondering what the deal is with Saji. I figure he's going to end up in a Mobile Suit, mostly because the only other purpose he could serve is a view from the sidelines.

I was sad when Lockon died, he was such a good pilot and fought for what he truly believed in. Once i saw Ali Al still alive in 25 i was pissed off because I was sure he had killed him!

Nena won't take over Lockon's spot, he had a twin brother Lyle, so he most likely will take over Dynames. As for Tieria, he is wearing a earth federation suit at the end, and sounds more like a girl.

I'm aware of the Sub. I actually got the whole series on DVD. Iactually meant we might've seen it sooner had Mobile Suit Gundam did well on TV, but it would've been butchered to air in CN.

As for the non-grunt suts, yeah. There was Quebley, everything Scirrocco built, the mobile armors which were actually good, and everything Char piloted.

As for Saji. There is a reason he's in. Some fan say he won't be a pilot, yet he's perfect for the "student gets forced into the pilot's seat" scenario that Amuro, Kamille, and Kira all ended up in. We'll find out next season but I imagine his role will be more prominent since they downsized the cast.

What I found strange was that it looked like they Zeta'd the cast. (That being almost everyone died) But then Graham comes back with a Freddy Krueger face, Ali is still alive (Or Patrick took up drinking, they look a lot alike), and Tieria is still alive. (Was that Louise standing next to him?)

It's not too bad. I did want SOME of he cast too survive. And if it had to be anyone, I would have said Tieria.

Also, Sumaragi did a Brightslap. Good to see that tradition is still alive.

Yeah, didn’t like something about how they killed off most of the cast, felt to me as if they were trying to end it or something. Also it was a serious change of pace that almost seemed to have come too soon.

I also hated how they skipped five years into the future at the end, there was still so much going on.

BTW, did anyone catch the RX-78-2 at the end of episode 25?

Well, like I said, a lot of people really didn't die. Which I thought was okay, because I didn't want to see a complete cast overhaul at the half-way point. That when you step into SEED Destiny territory.

Nekoman wrote:I also hated how they skipped five years into the future at the end, there was still so much going on.

Yeah, I don't think there's ever been a timeskip so big in Gundam before, especially in the middle of a series. I mean, between series, why not? Kind of has a Final Fantasy VI feel to it, everything is different, New World Order, enemies become friends, friends become enemies etc..

Nekoman wrote:BTW, did anyone catch the RX-78-2 at the end of episode 25?

Yeah, that's the 0 Gundam, the only mech in the series that was designed by Kunio Okawara. It also appeared at the very beginning of Episode 1. (Being the Gundam that saved Setsuna)

Oh, I didn’t even know that thing had a name.

I also didn’t know Okawara was only to design one of the MS in the series (which explains why I‘m not used to the stick figure look…), I miss old Gundam, maybe Turn A should have been the end.

Well think about it, this is war, so they made it realistic by having both sides have casualties and evened out the field with the GN-X's. Can't like Wing where the Gundams just owned everything that was thrown at them everytime, and barely took that much damage. I sitll have a feeling Lasse is alive since we did not see the GN-arms completely destroyed, there's hope that he is still alive.

Also the skip to the future was essential. The Gundams destroyed all but a few GN-X's, not too mention Alexander's gold suit which was their trump card. The Gundam that was in the best shape was Kyrios, but all of them had basicly been rendered useless and i doubt the Dynames had been repaired. Celestial Being needs more power to be able to fight the mass numbers of new GN-X's, so they went into hiding to upgrade their gundams, create more original furnaces for the Trans-Am system. The war is just about to begin, we had the luxury of skipping the preparation and upgrading parts. : )

Yeah, but everyone died off all at one time? I don’t know, just felt like it should have been a little more gradual to me.

As for the time skip, I just wish it had been done differently, but I guess it was okay.

Gundam got it right, they are action figure modle kits with superb detail and just about every show gadget present. As most Gundam toys are offered as kits, the level of size and detail is near endless.

I have many Gundam kits in play, and many kept for the ages...

The action figures offer the same quality and detail, range and size and have mastered the "Battle Damaged" look(take notes Hasbro).

As for the question of if they are for collection or play, well, thats up to you :D

Alejandro was not with the world forces side. He was a member of CB but had his own adjenda. But so did Rivonze.

CB is small but has the best technology. Plus you can't exactly roll out GN drives over night. And if they did, CB would be too strong. It's better when the main characters are overwhelmed as it creates more jeopardy.

Exia seemed in much better shape than Kryios. but then again it doens't matter since Exia seems it will get rehauled into 00 Gundam, using parts form 0 Gundam, judging from the obscure image was saw at the end of the preview.

Not really, Exia was missing a arm, leg and the head. Not too mention a giant whole in the cockpit from Graham's beam saber that also burned Setsuna's shoulder. Kyrios was missing an arm and leg, and a little damage to the cockpit, the shrapnel went into Hallelujah's eyes and killed that part of the brain.

I also agree with you on the GN drives, I mean 4 years later and they still had not completed Exia's upgraded drive, but I'm guessing the new gundam being tested is either Kyrios or Dynames. It could also be Virtue since only Nadleeh was scrapped, Virtue's armor was not damaged during that battle at all.
