:BOT: This Wednesday, Secret Invasion #1 hits stores and I cannot wait for this!

Be warned... Bendis says that Canada will get their comics tomorrow so it looks like there'll be plenty of spoilers soon.

To whet your appetite, Marvel has released a 7 page prologue revealing one more Skrull! :CON:

Seems more interesting than Civil War to me, though all I know is that the Skrulls are impersonating people to take over Earth. Something like that. I don't even know the details of their plan.

It's just a shame that it seems Marvel takes three-quarters of the year for a huge crossover nowadays and gives us a breather from these grandiose events for only a short bit. I remember when the huge crossovers would last from the beginning of summer to the end.

:BOT: I can understand where you're coming from. This is 8 issues long! Quite a commitment if you account for their build up. Maybe it's me but it doesn't feel as overwhelming as some make it to be. I think since I like Marvel and I'm reading a good chunk of it any ways I don't mind.

In anycase... the Invasion begins!!!! Spoilers ahead.

A Skrull ship crashes in the Savage Land. The New Avengers and Mighty Avengers rush to get to it first. Tony and the New Avengers member are aware this is Skrully since the first NA battle led them to the Savage Land. Though Jarvis and Dum Dum Dugan reveal themselves as Skrulls and take down the world's defenses! The Skrull ship opens and reveals the Marvel "heroes" circa 1970s attire!

Insanely awesome issue. Yu's art is good in New Avengers but thanks to a new inker and colorist, it really pops here. And Bendis is setting up one hell of a ride.

I know I'll buy Final Crisis... but we've seen Crisis before. Make Mine Marvel! :CON:

uh oh, circa 70's Avengers!

Guess Quesada wasn't content wiping out decades worth of Spidey history he's going to use Secret Invasion to wipe out decades of Marvel history!

Quesada bashing aside, they's gotta be Skrulls. After all, Cap was killed, he never reverted to Skrully form so he was genuine.

Unless that was really a clone of Cap and zomg! Steve Rogers is still alive and was trapped in time on a Skrull ship!

It's going to be one huge disappointment isn't it? :?

:BOT: Take a closer look to Joe Quesada's note at the end of the issue. He mentioned how heartbroken Aunt May will be once she finds out Jarvis was a Skrull...

That would mean Spidey & Family would have stayed at the Avengers Tower even in this post-One More Day world. HOW DOES THAT WORK?

I'm probably making a bigger deal than it should be. Though I really want to know how One More Day/Brand New Day works. :CON:

Okay so I went back and checked this out because admittedly, I didn't read it the first time.

Personally I think you might be reading into it a bit too much. All he wrote was "NO! Not Jarvis, poor Aunt May". To me that's just a passing comment and not a hint towards OMD/BND stuff. He just seems to be reflecting on the past history of Jarvis and May. Which probably does seem odd considering HE WIPED IT OUT!

But nah, I can't see it being anything important.

Going back further though they talk about House of M and how someone at the heart of the story can stop the Skrulls. Clint Barton perhaps? He was dead before House of M and following that he was resurrected. Sure he may seem like a prime candidate for a Skrull but perhaps Wanda's powers truly did bring him back to life, and he's going to be the wildcard the Skrulls didn't plan for.
