Me, Grimlock! wrote:It's just a shame that it seems Marvel takes three-quarters of the year for a huge crossover nowadays and gives us a breather from these grandiose events for only a short bit. I remember when the huge crossovers would last from the beginning of summer to the end.

I can understand where you're coming from. This is 8 issues long! Quite a commitment if you account for their build up. Maybe it's me but it doesn't feel as overwhelming as some make it to be. I think since I like Marvel and I'm reading a good chunk of it any ways I don't mind.
In anycase... the Invasion begins!!!! Spoilers ahead.
A Skrull ship crashes in the Savage Land. The New Avengers and Mighty Avengers rush to get to it first. Tony and the New Avengers member are aware this is Skrully since the first NA battle led them to the Savage Land. Though Jarvis and Dum Dum Dugan reveal themselves as Skrulls and take down the world's defenses! The Skrull ship opens and reveals the Marvel "heroes" circa 1970s attire!
Insanely awesome issue. Yu's art is good in New Avengers but thanks to a new inker and colorist, it really pops here. And Bendis is setting up one hell of a ride.
I know I'll buy Final Crisis... but we've seen Crisis before. Make Mine Marvel!
