As you all may know, Uwe Boll has started a petition against himself to quit making films. Along with that, he has now started a petition to KEEP making films. Yeah thats right.

You might remember how the other day Cinematical and FEARnet writer Scott Weinberg clued us all in to an interview FEARnet conducted with the infamous director Uwe Boll. Shortly after our post hit, it quickly made its way all over the web -- with thousands upon thousands of people signing a petition to stop Boll from making anymore movies. See, in the interview he said he'd stop if the petition was signed by one million people. Not sure if he knew this at the time, but the internet loves a challenge.

Well, now, Boll has put out a video asking fans to start up a pro-Boll petition. Oh yes, and he wants one million folks to sign that as well. I love this guy -- hearing him, he sounds like the bizarro Arnold Schwarzenegger. Why does he want you to sign a pro-Boll petition? Well, because -- and I quote -- he's "not a f**king retard like Michael Bay or other people running around in the business ... or Eli Roth making the same sh**ty movies over and over again. If you really look at my movies, you will see my real genius."
He's definitely a unique individual -- I'll give him that. Then again, this could be wonderful promotion for his next film Postal, which comes out in May. Hmmm ... maybe Boll is a genius. Check out his scathing video message after the jump (and, yes, it's probably NSFW).

Director Uwe Boll proclaims "I am not a retard"

With a picture like that I think otherwise...oh, his movies and their complete failure on every level say the same

The two differences between Michael Bay and Uwe Boll:

1. Michael Bay can actually MAKE money

2. I enjoy Michael Bay's movies.

What did Michael Bay ever do to Uwe Boll to make him say bad about him? Besides making better movies that are blockbusters.

It was shortly after the Stop Uwe Boll petition began gaining momentum, that he figured it'd be a good idea to start one that likes him.

Since he's such an egomaniac, he doesn't comprehend that not only do his movies not make back their budget, but they get terrible ratings. Meanwhile, Michael Bay's movies tend to make ton's of cash, even if they weren't popular with critics.

Of course, this is why Bay said he didn't care; he's so many miles above Uwe Boll.

Quite literally as Scott directed the first Alien movie and it took place billions of miles out in space ...I'm going to a midnight matinée of Alien at a local theater tonight.

I've seen it a hundred times but never on the big screen before so it should be fun.

You're absolutely right Shadowman. Of course! And while Bay is no Ridely Scott or James Cameron, he's a directing God compared to Anderson and Boll( deffinatley)...

The fact that I've never heard of him, goes to show just how much I care about what he's trying to say in his movies.

Sometimes you're a director to make a movie that will make money.
Sometimes you're a director to make a movie about a message.

Very few of the later ever become well known. Though usually loved by the critics, the general population just don't give a damn about what you think. Mainly because people usually don't go to movies to hear a message. They want to be entertained.

I don't know much about him or his movies, but he seems like a critic's whipping-boy, after Bay. Looks like he knows what he's doing:

"If I get the attention of some big names, I'll get attention in return."

Perhaps his genius lies in fields other than filmmaking.
