I think Hal Jordan is a great character, he's my favorite GL. But it seems like all the message boards I go to have a lot of Hal-bashers. How come nobody likes him? I'm not trying to start a Hal vs. Kyle flame war, I'm asking a serious question.

I haven't heard much of people hating Hal Jordan. Whenever I hear people talk about Hal Jordan it's mostly about his lack of appearances in movies and games, mostly being made into a cameo/unlockable. Hal has always been my favorite GL, and though I am a fan of Kyle Rayner and John Stewart, and I find it disappointing that he is rarely in any media outside of comics. Hopefully that will change and he will get more exposure, especially where he's back as the main GL in the Green Lantern comic.
Perhaps the people saying it didn't get enough exposure to him like they might have had with Kyle Rayner or John Stewart as up until the return of the Corps Kyle had been more or less the sole GL for at least 10 years if I remember correctly, and John Stewart being used for the Justice League and Static Shock cartoon.

Its not hatin, its just that he didnt appear alot, so to speak, that people dont know him well.....and thats why that undesiredness to know him better.......

He's got a lot of comics love thats for sure.
As for media exposure, maybe he just needs a little more time. With Geoff Johns writing his stories, there's bound to be some animated adaptation, especially since DC has done a lot of animated DVDs featuring classic stories

I think most people that say they don't like Hal Jordan are talking about Hal's civilian life. Many people find it boring.

Jesus, I hate to find out hat they think about other superhero civvie jobs, like reporter, photographer, architect, hobo, etc.

Personally, Hal Jordan is awesome as hell, not enough cartoon media exposure.

Plus with the whole Parallax thing, what better character to use for a Green Lantern movie(s). Bring in Hal, show how awesome he is. Then for the third movie, have him kill off most of the Green Lanterns then introduce Kyle Rayner.

He smells funny. Like cheese.

Yeah, as far as civilian jobs go, Test Pilot is one of the better jobs.

Of course, Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne get to be at the top of the list.

That is a brilliant idea. Good guy kicks ass, good guy goes bad, new good guy kicks old good guy's ass, old good guy sees the error of his ways, then dies peacefully. Quick, to Warner Bros. Studios!

Hal Jordan as a GL sucks becuase he has no personallity and no writer has ever given him one that makes him cool or a stand out.

As Phallax and the Spectre he was 3-Dimensional character as a GL he boring as dirt and his use of the ring is another part of the problem
he doesn't have much of an imingation. Ooh a boxing glove, Rayner was
an artist and simply put he was the better Green Lantern period. Kyle Rayner was a more complex and interesting character until Geoff
Johns turned him into a drooling fanboy in Green Lantern: Rebirth #5. After that I lost all my love for the DCU and all respect for Geoff Johns as a writer.

Plus I also blame Johns for turning Cassie (Wonder Girl in Teen Titans ino a whiney bitch, after Peter David had delvoped her into a strong indepentdent young woman and a possible team leader in Young Justice and and turning Impulse into a lame ass standard super-hero (with stupid code name Kid Flash Yuck) instead of young man with exterme ADS.

He's the greatest Green Lanterns to have ever worn a power ring. And the only one else who's banged more chicks then he has would be Marvel Comics' Hawkeye. Hal Jordon is one of the biggest bad asses in all of comic books.

Eh I respect Hal Jordan as a character. Of the GL's of Earth he's the most developed. Heck even Alan Scott hasn't gone through as much hell as Jordan has. Slave to Parallax, the destruction of his home town, the entire Sinestro Corps war, Hal's been torn apart and put back together so many times its not even funny.

Still I perfer Sinestro over Hal. I mean come on, how bad ass do you have to be to have your own Corps named after you?

Do you go to the DC Comics boards? The GL forums is filled with passionate Hal fans.

For the record I liked him better pre-retconned to hell Rebirth.

Exactly, Hal was Clark Kent with a GL ring. Hence he was quite boring and all his "we want Hal back" fans had a rosey colored memory of him. Now he's back and his book is only selling 60K a month and dropping. So much for all their screaming about loyalty.

You mean Parallax. Again, true Hal fans should've been happy with him as Spectre but no they weren't. What they were was Hal as GL fans. Hal as a vessel of vengence was much more fun to read than Hal as GL.
