Chinese factory found making Tibetan flags

Reports in a Hong Kong newspaper say police in China have discovered a factory making thousands of Tibetan flags for activist groups overseas.

The Ming Pao newspaper in Hong Kong says the Tibetan flags were being made at a factory in the southern province of Guangdong.

It says the factory owner was just fulfilling an order and was not aware of the sensitivity of the flags which are outlawed by the Chinese authorities.

The case reportedly came to light because some workers at the factory recognised the distinctive snow mountain lion design on the flag from watching HK TV.

They checked the significance of the flag on the internet before alerting the authorities.

It's true then, they don't care what they knock out of those factories. Be it illegal flags or illegal Transformers. :P

Somehow I don't think the factory owner is going to be owning it for very much longer.

Or his teeth.

With all the increased international media attention on the China-Tibet problem of late, this could not have come at a worse time for the factory owner!

At least one crooked Chinese factory owner will get his come-uppance.

Too bad it's for something that shouldn't even be considered bad.

And this is in response to the Olympic Committee allowing their games to be played in a country who has no regard for it's citizens or the rest of the world in general. I will not watch, or otherwise bother, with the Olympic Games this year due to this very reason.

I am so disappointed that they went ahead and let China host the Olympics. They have so many human right violations I cannot count them. Then there is the fact that they produce way too much pollution. If anyone is helping global warming along it is China.

Because the Olympics are suppose to be about sporting competition, nothing more, nothing less.

(This isn't meant to insult anyone who feels otherwise either) It's just some people have decided that it's much more than that and use it as a political tool to get a message across.

I'm surprised they were given the Games on that reasoning alone. Beijing is not what I'd call a first pick for athletes to compete at...

Ah well, it just means there will be another 4 years where the 2000 games were the best ever.
