Sick of condo guy!

Okay, anybody know any way to get a condo guy to start doing his job? The story goes that I own a condo and pay a decent amount for condo fees. Anyway, the guy who's supposed to be doing the fixits around here has been aware of some water damage to my and several other people's condos. This has been a few months now. Mind you, he's said he and the rest of the condo higher-ups are waiting for the snow to melt. Now that it's melted, he hasn't answered any messages about the status.

A second thing is that the handle to our screen door broke. The condo corporation is responsible for that maintenance. You'd think it would be a simple replace job, but no, he has to fix the door instead. Which means, apparently, that he has to special order a part to fix it. The part's been on order for nine months. This has GOT to be a stall tactic; no part takes nine months to order.

We're selling our place sometime in the next year or few months, and I want these issues fixed.

Anyway, this guy hasn't moved on anything lately. Tomorrow I'm going to call and ask to speak to his boss about these issues. I want to hear some news on the water damage, and I want this screen door replaced (not fixed if this part isn't coming) in the next month. I think I've given this guy enough time, and if it's time to rat him out to his superiors, then so be it. Is there any other recourse? Anything in Canadian law that helps me out?

Be sure to take pictures of everything, include a copy of that days news paper in the scene with the date showing to prove when they where taken.

Keep them incase you have to file a dispute.

I was watching People's Court before.

It sounds like you belong to a homeowners association. Call them and complain.

Well, I put my foot down (nicely), and it seems that things are moving now. A guy came in to look at the water damage, and in a couple of weeks, the door guy will come in. I'll keep you updated.
