No vampires allowed, and not above county buster level.

Oz from One Piece should be pretty high.

Scarmiglione of Earth, or Poison, depending on how he feels.

Because he's the only one I could think of that wasn't from Resident Evil.

At the risk of sounding ignorant, what is the "county buster" level?

I'm going to say the Schaemiacs from Last Blood. Though, technically, they're partially Vampires.

How about Optimus Prime? He's returned from the dead enough times to count.

Jason Voorhees
Zombie Prime
Nemesis
Jacob Goodnight
Freddy Krueger
Mr.X
GMK Godzilla(somewhat of a zombie)
Toho Godzilla(he isn't really alive he was dead when he was mutated and may not even have any internal organs(minus a heart and lungs) but the fact is even if he was dead he may not relize it so he thinks he needs to breath still)

Evil Ernie

King Zombie

I'm downright shocked no one else mentioned either. Evil Ernie's power class isn't county buster (can destroy a county quickly) He's a State buster. He psychically commands an army of undead and at it's height numbered in the millions. He had the same level of intelligence he had while living, which is roughly average for a sheltered teenager. On top of that he has the ability to resurrect the dead, both freshly dead and old dead.

King Zombie is near genius level as a zombie, and he commands not only a legion of zombies, but demons spawned from the depths of Hell. He's methodical in his approach to the eradication of humanity, rolling into a town with his posse and systematically killing every living thing in it. He's possibly one of, if not the, most dangerous character in all of Horror Comic Books.

Almost no one else on this list can hope to stand before either.

I don't know what 'county buster' means so I'll have to just risk being wrong, but I'd go with Zombie Quicksilver. He's the reason the Marvel Zombie plague consumed that reality's Earth in less than 24 hours.

Even Hulk is limited in the damage he can inflict as a plague bearer, and like Wolverine, is actually a lot less formidable without his regenerative powers.

Of course, I'm still annoyed that Vision, Ultron, and the host of other non-biological characters were nowhere to be seen during the catastrophe, and Colossus (who managed to make it to metal form before things went nuts) and Ghost Rider (who should have become Ghost Rider in the presence of evil) were somehow infected.

Even if Colossus was infected moments before he metallized, that should have halted the infection, and since he can stay in metal form indefinitely there's no reason he should have succumbed. Maybe if Xavier had been infected and mind controlled his X-Men to submit, but Xavier was devoured...

And of course, even the Zombie plague, which was slowed by Spider-Man's immune system, should have stopped in its tracks in the face of Deadpool's healing factor.

There were plotholes but they were well explained ones. The source of the infection wasn't a magical plague like Ash thought in MZ vs AoD. It turned out to be an alien infection from another reality. So therefore Wolverine, Sabretooth's, Deadpool's et. all's healing factors would be rendered useless. They're only immune against native diseases, and healing can't regenerate totally dead and rotted tissue. So it sort of made sense.

And as fast as Quicksilver is he's still basically just a really fast zombie. King Zombie could pilot a vehicle and destroy him with mortor fire. And Evil Ernie could just let himself be attacked and rip Quicksilver in half with his physical strength. Even if Quicksilver managed to hit Ernie he his Energy Arcane is capable of healing his body to it's normal condition.

Ah, see, when the title is "Most Powerful Zombie in Fiction" I'm not going by which zombie could do the most damage to all the other zombies (because I don't give a rodent's hindquarters about them), I'm concerned about the damage they can do to the as yet unzombified population (which includes me). Scary magic Zombie wouldn't really worry me any more than, say, Skeletor, but a guy that could infect me without me seeing it coming... eek.

And yes, I knew the MZ plague was extraterrestrial. If it had been mystical I would have accepted Ghost Rider, Colossus Wolverine, Sabertooth, Deadpool, and maybe even the sentient robots being infected.

As an alien plague it should still be vulnerable to the Weapon X trio's healing factors. If it wasn't, it probably wouldn't have been compatible with their anatomy to begin with, and certainly wouldn't have been slowed in its progress by stronger immune systems.

Kind of intresting, considering that AoA Deadpool mentioned that he was always rotting as well as healing.
