The Gundam model thread

Any other modelers out there? If so, than you know that 100th MG is coming up soon. Here's what I know:

Hobby Japan is giving away gold plated versions of the Mystery kit to those who guess it correctly by July when it's announced. Now here's the only hints that I've found out: It is NOT the Zaku 2.0, Char's Zaku 2.0, or the upcoming RX-78 revamp. It is a new mold, not a retool. My guess? I'm going to say it'll be a more affordable kit, ruling out a Sazabi 2.0 or a Nightengale. I'm going to say right now it's the Turn-A. Why? It's been demanded for so long, and an RX-78-1 Proto just doesn't seem all that likely. My second choice? A GM 2.0.

Anyhow, PLEASE post pics of your stuff. I'm going to start snapping pics of my stuff this weekend. I build MG's and have a lot to share, my newest additions are: Zeta 3 Unicorn and the Hi-Nu. I also have the Strike Noir and Zaku 2.0 coming from Japan. If you email and bug my wife for me, I can get a 1/35 G-system RX-78-3!!!!!!!!!!! She said if I buy her a new car, I can get one. Don't know about spending 800 on a model though...

I have a couple of those cheap 1/144 ones from bandai. All from gundam seed. I bought them because 1. they are cheap and 2. They were very easy to assemble.
I don't have the convidence I could put together a master grade/high grade gundam model and even paint it.
Though I would love to have one on my desk.

Last Gundam I built was the PG Wing Zero Custom. It's one hell of a jump from HG to MG, if you didn't know. But the store down the street had one on clearance so I figured, eh, why not?

I have them all so far, and I'm ready for G-system I think. Strike Rouge w/ailestriker was the last PG kit, it's identical to the Strike save for the pink color and the stand (which is awesome). Shame you haven't built the Strike yet, it's the best PG kit around. Here's a list:
PG:
RX-78-2
Char's Zaku II
Zaku II Grunt
GP01Fb (the hardest kit IMO)
Mk.II
Mk.II Titans
Zeta (the biggest)
Wing Zero Custom
Strike
Strike Rouge
Skygrasper w/aile striker

HY2M (same as PG's):
Rick Dom
Char's Rick Dom
Gouf
1/24 RX-78-2

It's a shame that you think so little of Master Grades, as they've really advanced. The Mk.II ver.2.0 is basically a mini-PG, except MORE posable. Same with the Zeta. Not to mention 1/100 is the perfect display scale, not to big, but not to small. Also more variety. Want a challenge? Try the Hi-Nu or any of the 2.0's. Or take the ultimate challenge, the EX-S.

Try the MG RX-79(G). It's a great kit, lots of guns, assembly isn't bad at all, and it's not that expensive (25 shipped in the US on ebay). It's probably still my favorite kit, and all it needs for details is a Fine point black gundam marker for panel lines.

The only one I have left since my house burned down 5yrs ago is my PF Wing Zero Endless Walts version. I've got a couply of gapshon (yeah I know I spelled it wrong) kits from G-Seed and few SD kits (thank Big Lots for having em for $1). Otherwise really havent seen anything thats caught my eye.

EDIT: Now that I've been thinking about it, anyone want to start the "Gundam Parts" trading thread again? I started one when I first joined Seibertron and it got a pretty decent response. Basicly the idea is to trade/sell/giveaway those extra parts usually get with the kits. Just an idea :P

I'd do it. I have a boatload of heads, weapons, hands, optional stuff etc. I would like to build my own custom Gundam, so yeah I'm all for it.

Too bad i'm not from the US, getting stuff like gundam kits is a lot harder and expensive here.

Spoony, ik heb een naam voor je, A Space Oddity.Jef heeft altijd een grote stash gundams van verschillende series en klasses liggen voor redelijke prijzen(voor import he?).back to english(sorry, just helping a fellow dutchman), I actually DO like the MG`s and have built several including the tricky to keep posed Zeta.yes they are articulate but honestly, they`re less of a challenge then PG`s.

As I said, that comment is baseless until you've built the 2.0's and the Hi-Nu.

Update:
I bought 3 HQ gundam seed kits. Raider, Forbidden and Abyss. Only 4 hours later when I was in the train again did I realised that I should have gotten calamity instead of Abyss to have the Seed trio. Ah well, Abyss is too damn cool to leave be anyway so I regret nothing :P
It costed me 75 euro.

Sorry they're late, here's a couple quick pics I snapped of some stuff on display around the house. With a newborn son things are a bit hectic, but I really hope to do adequate galleries of all of them: Anyhow to start off, here's MG Wing Zero Custom:

And my horrible addiction, Gundam closet 1 of 3. About 1/4 of these are built. Not pictured but also in this closet: MG GP01Fb, 1/60 Strike freedom lightning edition, EW Tallgeese, EW Serpent, MG GM Sniper, MG Zeta Unicorn, and MG 1/100 Dom.

Depends on the particular Mecha. Normally, between 7.5 and 8 inches (about the size of a Voyager class TF), however some are about 10 in or more. Like the Nu gundam is about 9, the Sazabi about 11, and the Perfect Zeong is about 15-16. 1/60 are about 12-15 in.

Hot damn those look good!
So those are master grades éh :-?

Well I myself assembled Raider gundam and i'm really suprised at how damn poseable high grade models are (comparing them with those non grade 8 euro kits is hardly fair :P ) not to mention dang good looking without the need for any paint.

Anyway now i'm thinking of painting (using those cheap ass figures as practice material). Do you have any advice/tips on do's and don't when it comes to gundam painting?
