Spaceballs: The Animated Series

Finally.

The first episode is a parody of the Star Wars prequel movies, and an origin story for Dark Helmut. (Pannikin Crybaby)

It's really good. Not perfect, but really good.

EDIT: The episode has a lot of Boob jokes. This seems kind of sophomoric, until you realize that most of Mel Brooks' movies--Spaceballs included--were heavy with sex-jokes.

It should end up...*ahem*...in the usual places in a few hours.

They're actually showing four episodes today, while a fifth one was momentarily on YouTube a week or so ago. Each episode is a parody of something, it seems. The first one is the Star Wars prequels, then they're doing Lord of the Rings, Grand Theft Auto, Jurassic Park, while the one on YouTube was a parody of James Bond.

It's going to be a veritable Spaceballs Orgasm. I'll have to break out my copy of the movie to watch afterwards.

They're actually showing the movie both before and after the series.

I just noticed something. A lot of people mention to Panikin "You should have worn a helmet!"

He actually get's his signature Helmet to hide a really weird lump he got in a fight with Outlet Maul.

The first episode was really good. Dee Bradley Baker does a really good Helmut voice with the mask off, but with the mask down, his "evil" voice sounds good, but it really doesn't match Rick Moranis's "evil" voice.

The guy who replaced John Candy is really good. Sounds a lot like John Candy.

Apparently, Lone Starr isn't a prince in the series. He gets into an argument with Vespa over this, saying there's no more Princes in the Galaxy, while she wants to marry a Prince, though that may just be part of the LotR parody. Bill Pull man didn't voice Lone Starr, which is weird, because what is he doing these days anyway? Rino Romano replaces him, and he's actually really good. (As always)

EDIT:

Lone Starr: So why don't we just eat the Onion Ring and get it over with??

Yogurt: It can't be eaten, it's Indigestible! The heartburn alone would knock the **** out of you!

Wow, so the GTA episode has a crap-ton of cameos:

The Prince (Katamari Damacy)
Joanna Dark (Perfect Dark)
Cryptosporidium-136 (Destroy All Humans!)
Clank (Ratchet and Clank)
Pikachu (Pokemon)
Excitebike
Sabreman (Sabre Wulf)
Blanka (Street Fighter)
Poison (Final Fight)
Agent 47 (Hitman)
Bub (Bubble Bobble)
BFG 9000 (DooM)
Crowbar (Half-Life)
Samus (Metroid)
Mario (Mario series)
Yoshi (Mario series)
Bowser (Mario series)
Peach (Mario series)
Neo Cortex (Crash Bandicoot)
Tetris

Vespa shouts "Finish him!" before lone Starr kills the final boss brutally. Skroob gives various game characters a cheat code, most appropriately, it was "Up up, down down, left right, left right, B, A, Start."

They also have a reference to the Matrix, both in the device Yogurt uses to get barf into the game, and that dying in the game means dying in real life.

But that's only a few. I didn't catch a lot of references. Most were "Blink and you miss it," while some were a bit obscure.

I posted the topic a few minutes into the first episode. So it was closer to four hours.

I did. I said it was on. I said it was good. It's not my fault you didn't now what you wanted, they've been running ads all month for it on G4.

I wouldn't count on it. Apparently, as was said, one of the eps made it was onto the usual places a few weeks ago, and disappeared just as quickly.

I should also point out that while it's premiered in the US this weekend, it's been airing in Canada all Summer...well, assuming you have Super Channel...which I don't...

According to the top of his post, he posted: "22 Sep 2008 00:42"

So subtract the time from that, and make the necessary conversions for time-zone differences.

By the usual places, I don't mean YouTube.

I finally got to watch the first two episodes. I have to say I'm a little disappointed. Going through the two of them was a chore and I didn't find them funny at all. =/

It sucks... I guess my tastes have changed after all these years. I'll watch the other two tonight, hopefully they'll be a bit more enjoyable.

Well, there is a reason as to why it's only on G4.

After all, G4 isn't exactly known for it's comedy, or good entertainment.

It's Spike TV's mentally challenged helmet wearing cork on the fork little brother. He means well, but deep down we all know he isn't that good at anything.

I have to say, the third and fourth episodes were a vast improvement over the first two. Of course nowhere near perfect I actually laughed at some of the jokes.

The video game references were great, and Peach with massive boobs... Lol it's every Nintendo fan's wet dream. (Including mine...! XD)

And the way they ripped into cheating sports stars in episode four... That was great.

While not spectacular the last two episodes interested me enough to keep watching.
