Hey guys,

I need some help connecting my new audioset. I recently obtained a Logitech X-530 set for my laptop. I use a HP Pavillion dv5000 series.

Problem is, that my Logitech set is a 5.1 set. This set has 3 different plugs to connect (black, green and pink). My laptop however, only has 1 line-out jack for my headset.

I know I'll need an external soundcard (or something like that) to be able to connect the two. Does anyone know what I'll need or what I need to do?

At the shop they told gave me a Creative Xmod (which is connected by USB), it only has one line-out jack...

If you want to get the most of your Speaker set, you'll need at the very least a 6 channel Audio Card.

The wires are color coded for what speakers they control: green is front left and right, black is rear left and right, orange is center and subwoofer

You can however use the Speaker's with your current laptop, by plugging in the Green cable into your earphone jack.

You'll only get sound from the 2 front speakers though. No rear, and no sub-woofer since they can't actually be plugged in.

You'll want something like this:

to get the best enjoyment out of your speakers.
