Help! CD Drive has stopped working!

My CD drive has stopped working and the icon in My Computer for it no longer appears.
What solutions exist?

Get a new one. It's not like they're expensive or hard to replace.
Unless you're using a laptop, then get an external.

oh yeah get a new one. easiest soloution. if you just want a CD drive you can get them under $10. But you can get a full DVD burner with light scribe for like $20 - $30. The only optical drives that are expensive are Blu-ray drives, and burners, yet even they have come down in price!
