Pretty simple topic. What board members have you met in real life and how? And is there anyone else from your own life who you've gotten to join this community?

I haven't gotten anyone to sign up yet, but a few of my friends have checked the website out for stuff.

As far as people from here I've met in person, there's a gazoodle from Botcon. I've also found ways to hang out with Prime Evil, Counterpunch, Geekee1, and Soundstang since then.

I've met a couple but no one would know who they are as they've since left the boards.

None of the newbies would know them but I have dealt with GP, Galvatron Prime and I just seen him recently to trade figures and Starscreams Girl who used to be a coworker of mine

I have met Pyrostrata she came and stayed at my place for almost a week. Nether of us could afford to go to Botcon so she used some vacations days and we had our own Botcon. Which mainly consisted of us smoking pot and watching Transformers. We dubbed it "Potcon".

I met Counterpunch, Ironman/TheMuffin, AirCommanderStarscream, Fender Bender, First Gen, SGT Grumbles, Geekee1 and the big man himself Ryan at Botcon last year. I'm sure I met a few others too, but I'm sorry I don't remember them too well, it got kind of blurry after a bit.

And yes shadowman and I are; in fact, good friends in real life.

I've only met one person on the boards (he doesn't come around these parts anymore), but I haven't heard from him in, like, two months. Have no idea what he's doing. Other than him, if you count Facebook, I've met about 7 or 8 others. If not, then nope.

Well I've meet waaaaghlord at AA this year, grate fun awesome too!
And I've meet MECHACAT, who was at that time not a member yet, but we "persuaded" her, meaning we annoyed her long enough with our toy guns till she joined, but hasn't posted yet.

But I'm planning on meeting them, and this time more ODBers again next AA, this time I'll get drunk!

And...ME!!! Funny thing about that was,we hung out (in a larger group) for at least an hour that one night at Botcon and a day or 2 later you came to me and said something like "Hey, I think I've met you but I'm not sure."

But yeah, I know how you feel. There were a LOT of Seibertron people around.

Sorry you couldn't afford to make Botcon '08, it was a blast. I'd offer to let you share a room with me next year, but I think I'd need to buy a gas mask first.

Delicon, Counterpunch, Geekee1, First Gen, Energon, Fender Bender, Seibertron, Prime Evil, Muffin(ever so briefly on a street corner), and yeah, I'm sure there's others.

Unfortunately very few people here have had the honor of being graced with my presence.

Actually, by very few, I mean none. I really need to get around to a botcon or other convention.

Though I feel like I know you guys already.

Good news is, I have a good paying job, so I can save up to go.

I ran into Counterpunch in Target. I remember seeing his face on the TFTM DVD extras. We must have talked for a good 20 min. standing in the middle of the video game aisle, daring little kids to pass by us!

Real stand-up guy, I will probably meet more members if I can ever make it over to his place for these infamous get-togethers...

LOL! I have been working out getting things lined up to make it to BotCon 09, but with an aging family and all that, ya never know what can happen between now and then! I wanna go BAD, and I think I might be able to this go-round (finances are getting better), so I might wanna chat with people about financial-defrayance (is that a word?)...

...As for needing a gas-mask, that is only if you want me to fill the air baffles with smoke ...other than that, I am a polite smoker (that is if I even bother with it..I hear you guys REALLY get yer drink on...I might not need to bring anything but a spare kidney and perhaps a liver! )

Save your vital organs, you might need to sell them off in order to buy the Botcon exclusives.

Actually, Botcon isn't as expensive as some people think. While the exclusives are pricey, they are a heckuva lot c heaper than they become on the secondary market. There are always some high priced dealers but most are reasonable. Sure, it costs money to get there and for the hotel, but you might have people closer than you think to where you live willing to carpool.

And while my wife and I usually get our own room, a lot of the Seibertron members have been known to bunch up like 6 in a room.

I really hope as many board members as possible make it to Botcon 09, it really is a lot of fun and once you've met a lot of fellow collectors, it seriously adds something to the hobby.

Yup, that sounds like something I did. I'm good with faces usually, but not so much with names.

Guess I'd better start making plans for next year, if I'll be able to go.
