It says he was a Power Ranger, looks like the old green one from the first show to me, although he could be a newer guy I don't recognize.

Bah, he wasn't even a Power Ranger, he was just an extra.

This is right. The headline is misleading.

Wow I'm surprised they didn't jump on the

"Power Rangers is evil, they teach your kids to be murderers" bandwagon like they do every time someone dies and there is a video game within a five mile radius.

Plus wasn't this old news? I seem to recall seeing a post on here several months ago about this.

Which Power Ranger was he and what series? I watched everything up to Space, but don't recognize him. Is he from a more current series? I lost interest in the show after they killed off Zordon.

He wasn't a Power Ranger, he was an extra, who had no spoken lines. He was, in fact, less important than the Putty Patrol. (And for those of you who don't remember, those guys were pure cannon fodder)

I think the real question is "why aren't more Power Rangers BEING murdered?".

The son of a convicted drug dealer, Deleon began acting in bit parts in commercials as a child. At age 14, he appeared in a non-speaking part in the series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which aired May 4, 1994. Unable to remember lines, Deleon's acting career faltered as an adult. At age 20, he joined the United States Marine Corps, but "went AWOL" fifteen days later.[2] He was later dishonorably discharged.[3]

*EDIT*

As always the media misconstrues the information to make people see what they want you to see.

Please. I can edit the heck out of the wiki entry no one would be any the wiser. What makes you think I didn't make the stuff up about his dad being a convicted drug dealer? 8)

This isn't about media misconstruing stuff, it's just a bad headline, and a misleading one at that. The story itself makes it clear that he had a bit part.

Yes I read your earlier post about the "misleading headline".

There was no need to get snippy about it either.

Uh, No one is out to get me.. I have had a few instances with the media and how they only want to show the bad side of things.

Years ago there was a robbery at a 7-11 near my house, a news reporter was walking around the block looking for interviews.
She approached me, asked me if it was ok to interview and I agreed.
She asked my name and all then asked me the question, "are you scared with the rise in crime in this area?" I said what raise in crime? it was the first incident like that to happen.
As soon as she did not hear what she wanted the camera went off and she walked away without a word.

She tried to interview my next door neighbor but walked away from him as well.

When the interview came on the ONLY person that made it through was an elderly woman that said she was scared.

See my point.
I also have a friend that works for one of the local TV stations and I have heard some things that they do and it makes me Leary of the media.

Why did you post then turn around and quote your post with new text? Hmmmm?

Well, to answer your question, I thought I was editing my post, so I'm as surprised that I did that as you are. I just wanted to understand why you made a blanket statement like that.

Second of all, TV reporters can be so scummy. Personally, I'm a print journalist; we look down on TV news. There are some bad reporters out there, and most of them don't last long in the industry.

And I see why you took it as hardly as you did, you are a print journalist thus you are in the media.

Sorry but there are plenty of people that think and feel as they do about the media. So the blanket statement is shared by many people on and offline.

It is my OPINION.
You don't share it, that is fine.
Others share it, that is fine.
Others don't share it, that is fine.

I am not going to force it on anyone (although plenty feel that way), it is there to read and that is it.
DO NOT get all defensive with me or anyone else.

Whoa man. Chill. I'm not denying your right to an opinion. But is this a threat?

In any case, I really don't care what you believe. But if your opinion is shaped by inaccurate information, my intent is only to enlighten, not argue.

Again, I meant no harm.

This is your opinion.
And it is based on your profession am I correct?

And as if it was a threat, there are too many people here that try and slam their opinions down others throats and get defensive, start arguments, etc.. I get emails and PM's about it constantly.

Well... yeah, but the key word is "if," I never said yours was. You had some bad experiences that shaped your opinion, and you're entitled to it. But not every reporter is as bad as you described (and man, what is you described is bad)

I understand where you're coming from being Mod. I've been there, it gets old fast.
Cheers
