I'm sure you're reading the title of this thread and thinking I'm on acid or something, but no. I'm sober...enough.

Well I had a job interview today at our local Buger King (I know...) and I talked to the manager for the lenghty time of 57 seconds (yes I counted) and he told me I would start next Friday at 4 PM. So Neko is officially employed. Even though I did say I would never get a job at a fast food joint if I could at all help it...well aparently I couldn't.

My Dad was driving us home afterward and we pass this one house in our neighborhood that has a huge lake/pond in the front (Their house is HUUUUUUUUUGE!!!!) and as we pass by we notice something in the road in the middle of our lane...it was a turtle! We pass over it and drive on. When we're at the turn to our street and my Dad asks me "Was that a turtle?"

"Yeah, I think so. Poor turtle..." (we live in the roadkill capital of the world!!!)

"You wanna go save it?"

"Yes!"

So we turn around, found the turtle, and stopped. The turtle got scared and ran under my Dad's car so I got out and my Dad drove on so the turtles not under the car anymore. I stood behind it trying to scare it enough to run out of the middle of the road and I ended up pushing it forward with my foot to get it going. Once it was in the grass it moved pretty fast and I chased/steered it into our neighbor's pond/lake thingy.

So yeah I had a weird day. :P

My dad nearly caused a four-car accident stopping for a turtle. I swear sometimes I don't get him...anyways, good to hear you're working now

Once he was in the grass he was pretty fast. I think he was sunning himself and that's why he was in the road. It's pretty sunny out right now. Very Pretty.

Don't dip into your stash!

(or in this case, don't eat what you sell.)

I remember one time I was riding with a friend and he hit a critter. He became so grief stricken that he closed his eyes and looked up.

I wasn't going to say anything, but when the driver of the car you're in isn't watching where he's going, and a corner is coming up with a cliff on the outside of it, you tend to start yelling.

Come to think of it, I haven't talked to that guy in a long time.... :-?

We have gopher tortoises all around this area. Not as many in the past five or so years because of too much development. But you used to see them all the time crossing roads around here. There's a fine for harming them, but I think it's okay to pick them up and move them out of harm's way. They tend to hiss at you when you approach them...

Probably drove off another cliff after hitting another animal, at a time when you weren't riding with him...

I have to respect the fast food industry. I've never worked in it, and would beat the s**t out of the first customer that bitched. When I was 15, I applied at a McD's, but ended up getting a job for 10 an hour repairing riding lawn mowers, ATV's, and motorcycles. That was the best job I ever had...worked when I wanted and 10 an hour was a lot of money for a high school kid, especially since we're talking about 1993.
