Zuko I love that image, that kicks ass.

And as a PC user I do infact hate those commercials. Then again PC doesnt have to make quant commercials to have people buy their products.

That's the other thing I hear from PC users. Fact is most PC users hate the commercials because they are true, for the most part.

Really? You mean I can't do anything creative on a PC? Thats complete news to me...I guess the past 10 or so years of me playing games and well using things like 3DS Max, Photoshop and premiere are all a dream...only Mac's can do that kind of stuff....I can only use Excel on my PC.

Or I can do all of that stuff and be on the same page as the rest of the majority of the buisness world with a PC. Im not trying to bas Mac users but this whole commerical thing of only Mac's can do photo editing, 3D modeling and video editing is just stupid. I also work for FedEx Kinko's where we stop suporting anything Mac (like Quark) because 98% of the stuff we get is PC based.

Well first I said for the most part. If you notice the Mac commercials are geared more toward those who use PCs for business purposes, hence the reason the PC guy is in a suit. Second I know PCs have a creative side because I use a PC at work for graphic design. And since when was Quark a MAC only program??? I was using Quark on my work PC well before we switched to InDesign.

Curious about somethin. What kind of "PC based" files are you using exactly? Because most of the files I work with in graphic design, which I would imagine are the same type of files your customers would bring in to print, are compatible on BOTH PC and MAC.

Eh I admit you got me there on the last part :P . But it didnt use to be the case where you could run Windows and such on mac's.

And I should have clarafied. What I meant to say is that we use to carry a single Mac behind the counter as a DPW. Nor do we have them out in Express for rental anymore (though only one branch out of 5 here in Abq had a G5 out in express but it got stolen and I dont think they ever bothered to replace it).

Actually I was thinking more like jpg, gif, eps, psd type files more then anything else. Those type of files should work on both formats. I say should because I have run into problems because of how the file was saved. Now MACs, in my experience, have an easier time with file conversion (the file types I listed anyways) then PCs.

Funny thing is I always seem to get defensive about ppl bashing MACs but the truth is I like working on both PC and MAC. I just think that PCs have more issues with them then MACs do, again in my experience.

We've had a VIAO pc, could be better, and my dad has had a VIAO laptop, not bad at all (though bloody heavy).

As for PCs vs MACs... PCs are much easier to update, you dont have to buy an enture system every 5 mins like the MAC, they also have a MUCH better mouse design, wtf is with the one button mouse?

On the flip side the MAC is more stable as it is all designed to work together.

In the end, as much as I hate Microsoft, I find the MAC (and the more dedicated of its users) much like I find the argument for being a vegiterian, stupid and pointless (it's hard to say which is more boring to have to listen to people preach about).

What?

Macs don't freeze? Crash? Restart? Surely not? :P

Not true. In fact, I find it very easy on PC.

I use MS Paint quite a bit, and all I have to do is open the file, hit "SAVE AS" and switch the filetype at the bottom. If I have to convert mutiple files, I'll use Adobe ImageReady7.0.

I've used a Mac before. It's pure evil. I couldn't figure out what the f I was doing most of the time.

Also, most of the ads are big fat lies. Here's a couple of fun facts:

1. One ad says it's dangerous to open a PC and replace parts to upgrade a computer. I've done it at least fifteen times in the past six months, and there's no danger, unless you have absolutely no skills with a computer. Hell, my mother, who is so computer-illiterate it's not funny, could probably replace any part in a computer with good instruction.

2. It says PCs are no good for fun. I'm sorry, which one had the hugely successful video game department, and developers commonly making exclusive titles for them? I think it was Microsoft. (Ironically, Halo was supposed to be a Mac game)

3. They always say Macs are better than PCs. Having used both, Macs are crap-tacular.

Yeah so who the hell are they? And do people on the other side of the pond find them jus as annoying as they're u.s. counterparts?

I had a mac once, couldn't get any software that friggin worked for it, none of the games i played on the old laptop i had previously would work, poser wouldn't work, and I wasn't gonna shell out another couple hundred to order a mac version and it was clunky as hel before finally catching fire, but it was free, so no complaints, even though I'll never go back to mac, unless it was free...

This video is so relevant it's hilarious.

This is the best thing to come out of Macintosh.

I agree with shadowman. Furthermore, I am forced to make use of MACs in my Art design and career skills class. When first I used it I thought"well it cant be all bad it looks cool right?". Oh how I wish I had the ability to go back in time and spray myself with mace until I came to my senses. After five minutes I had begun to believe that the chinese had come up with a new form of torture (see chinese water torture). I opened up photoshop and the stupid Icon was bouncing up and down at the bottom of the screen, it kept distracting me, it was all "boingidy boingidy boingidy" and I was all "shut up mac I'm trying to DRAW HERE" lather rinse repeat, and a few crashes later I was fuming. and It's not that I don't know how to use one, I know perfectly well. It was however under the guided influence of Mark Monk from the Community Access Center.
In short, the macintosh is one of the most frustrating pieces of worthless I have ever had the unpleasent misfortune to have ever worked with, and what's worse, going into an art college, I will be required to use one. I have found a loophole through this however, It's a windows version of the mac OS called Goatseccs (yes I realize it sounds dirty) the greatest things about goatseccs:

-I can dual-boot it with my current windows OS.
-I can right click baby... OH YEAH!!!

Thank you and goodnight everybody
-Tha Tweezrrr-
