So, the new James Bond film came out yesterday, ended up seeing it last night accompanied by a gorgeous lady.
The movie started off right in the midst of action, which was nice to see, no build-up, just a full blown car-chase bullets flying.
The effects could have used a bit of tweaking, with Craig's first film there wasn't much of a reliance on CG, in Quantum however, for a good number of the fight scenes, especially within the first 10-15 minutes there was a reliance on cg, and you could tell, it wasn't the quick bits of cgi that made you wonder, it was pretty tell-tale for the short time the cg was on screen.
But it worked.
Honestly, I don't have anything really bad to say about the film, it was just as good as Craig's first outing as Bond, and I hope he keeps the movies coming.
Edit: Also they had a trailer for the new Trek film, it looks badass.

ok folks time to talk about 007's newest adventure. I saw it last night and over all I though it was good but not great. While Casino Royale felt too long QS felt alittle too short. The action scenes were good but I felt none of them toped the Madigascar chase. I felt very disapointed with the car chase as it felt way too short and the stunts were just ok at best. Creig does a great job playing 007 as does Almeriac who plays Dominic Greene; I could really see the slimeyness he shared with La Chiffre. The main thing that bugged me was that the more I see Creigs bond the more I think of his character is just a brute. I mean he just goes postal on everybody and while yes that is cool it's not very bond like. I feel they've gone too far from the origional roots of Flemmings work and 007 is almost taking on the Borne series. This franchise is about spys not brutes who kill every lead and lack the charm that all the other bonds had. Ok enough ranting what did everyone else think?

wow, same thread within a couple minutes of each other, and now merged.
I thought Craig did a really good job as Bond, you can slowly see this Bond's progression into the suave Bond we all know, again slowly, but it's there.
Especially the last couple minutes of the movie, he really showed that he was turning into that Bond.

I saw the movie last night with my Dad. The only good part was the the Star Trek trailer and that was it. Quantum of Solace was so...boring there was just three points of music at begining middle and end and that was it. There was no James Bond Theme music just action sequnces after action sequince. I was confused as to who was doing what?
What was it the bad guy was doing that was so evil? Who was the bad guys? Where was this river underwater leading to? Why is Micheal Bay directing the action scenes? Who was that russian chick again?
[screams tosses her chair at the window and runs screaming over the horizon]

well he was stealing water which is a very limited resource giving him control of Boliva. The bad guys are called Quantom and the russian girl actually plays a hispanic woman named Camille.

I thought it was really good. Not awesome, but really good. Plenty of action, and intrigue.
I was disappointed right off that there was no TF2 trailer, but I didn't really expect there to be one anyway. The Star Trek trailer did look good, and got me excited for a Star Trek movie for the first time since very early childhood.
I really think Daniel Craig does the best Bond. A lot more muscular/less finesse, but still very smart, and sure. I am always impressed by his lack of fatigue after running and jumping for a hard to measure amount of time and distance.
So was Vespa's old Bf/husband a member of Quantum? Is he purposely seducing female agents, and femmes of power to implement putting their agents into the systems?

Personally, I hated the first chase scene. They moved too fast, and I couldn't figure out what was going on. Some shots were only a few frames long, and the cars all looked alike. Other than that, however, the entire movie rocked. Craig is my second favorite bond.(Connery will always be #1, since he put bond on the map.)
Also, fun fact: For "On her Majesy's Secret Service," Bond was originally going to be played by Adam West. See how long you can think of that without laughing.

Well, he and Roger Moore look/ed very similar, so I could possibly see him doing it, but I think all the POWs, Biffs, and so forth, might ruin the feeling of the movie just a bit.
I do agree some of the jittery-ness of the camera, and fast movements made parts hard to follow. I suppose in that case, it was probably honoring Michael Bay.

There were a lot of FORDs in this movie. You never know what the next one could have.
He tried to take a vacation of sorts in the first one... Got a woman killed as per Bond's usual MO.

Just watched it, and while I did like it, it felt less than Bond like.
The movie lacks certain elements. Q for instance. Its always fun to see him and his gadgets. Though i guess its kind of hard to incorporate him into a movie with such a serious tone to it.
And despite the seriousness, Judy Dench, M managed to get some laughter form the audience in the theater with the "Don't kill every lead we have" bit.
Also I wanted to see more gadgets from the car. And as someone said the chase was a little confusing.
However I did like the small homage to Goldfinger. Though instead of gold the pretty girl is covered in oil.
Still all in all not a bad movie but not a typical Bond movie.

yes he's a member of Quantom his job is to suduce women who are in charge of money for the government like Vesper and the Canandian chick who worked for the canadian government, and then fake a kidnapping and ransome them.
