Those of you who have seen the movie, I would like to know your opinions.

Haven't seen it, won't see it.

I was a huge fan of the Tom Jane version, it really felt like they did Punisher right with that movie, sure they took liberties with the origin, every movie does.

But the director really made it feel like a modern day western, which is in essence what the Punisher is. But some how people didn't like it, because when they think Punisher they think gratuitous violence, and the Tom Jane version lacked enough of that, apparently.

So we get a remake of the origin movie.

Which really cracks me up when I see the trailers for this movie. People detest the Dolph Lundgren version of The Punisher, but War Zone looks exactly the same as the Dolph version.

Wow. Holy CRAP.

This has just taken ultra-violence to a whole new LEVEL.

It's pretty good for what it is. I recommend going to see it while POed and angry with the world. You'll walk out feeling great.

I predict this will spawn more memes than 300 did.

Never heard of that place.
I am referring to fan reviews on other forums.

*edit*

After reading that review I want to see it even less.

Not going to see Warzone. I agree they did it right in '04. A sequel would have been preferred.

I loved the Thomas Jane movie. When I heard he wasn't coming back, I died a little inside.

I'm not going to see this. Usually, when a superhero movie gets bad reviews, I'll still give it a shot. Not this.

And I'm with Bishop. After reading that review, I really don't want to see it. "I can't find my red pen" That's in the best lines? Am I missing some context or something?

And "Billy is dead. From now on you call me Jigsaw." Hasn't that been said a few trillion times before? It's like they're filling in the blanks.

Not only that--it was the last lines from the 2004 movie, except Frank said it, and the preceding two hours were actually good.

No, you missed nothing. The review is poorly written, even for fan-babble.

Truth be told, I might go see the movie despite how awful the trailers and reviews are. It'll keep me busy.

Did anyone see this movie in the end? I did. It came out on DVD in the UK this week. It's an odd mix, campy but ultraviolent, and I found it bizzarely entertaining,

Bought it, Watched it, Loved it. I am a fan of the Punisher series and I have to say I kinda liked this version more than the 2004 since it was kinda in your face and just nonsencical violence but with great action nontheless. I am hoping that a sequal is made and if so it should be called Punisher: Call to Arms and should have Barracuda be one of the villans.

I own the 2 disc dvd. I really like it. My only issue is although the violence is great the story should have been better.

And Thomas Jane was on board for a sequel but the studio took too long getting up off the ground so he opted out. I dont blame him its hard to keep ripped to that extent for long periods of time.
