We all know M. Night Shyamalan is making his own live action adaptation of Nickelodeon's hit series Avatar soon, and for months now they've had auditions after auditions, but right now Night thinks he may have found his key characters...

Now let's see who's being considered....

Aang-Noah Ringer.

I can't find any photos or an imdb page for that matter on Ringer, I take it he's a new child star who's never been in any other films before.

Kitara-Nicola Peltz( Righteous Kill,Deck the halls)
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2443758/

Sokka-Jackson Rathbone( Twilight)
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1717152/

Zuko-....

...Jesse McCartney( All My Children, Summerland, Kingdom Hearts, Alvin & The Chipmunks, Horton Hears A Who)
http://imdb.com/name/nm0565366/
FYI: I don't hate or have anything against McCartney, I just find this casting rumor to be a bit odd, then again if he does land the role then I will give him a chance, he's really not a bad actor.

Well..This is shaping up to be quite a movie, wonder if these kids will be criticized for their nationality like Justin Chatwin is as Goku in Dragonball...

Unlike Chatwin, these people actually bear a resemblance to their characters aside from race. I've been behind Night doing this movie since it was confirmed that he would have the shows creators by his side during it and the fact that his daughter would kill him if he got it wrong since she loves the show.

So seeing his choices, I have to say, I like them. They all bear a resemblance that is passable. After all, you can't always have carbon copies when switching from one format to another.

I really say screw McCartney and get Dante Basco

I mean, honestly, he can pull off the Zuko look, he can act like Zuko, sound like Zuko, and he knows a fair bit of martial arts.

Yes, I know he's the voice of Zuko, he's also the one guy from the show who can pull of a live action Zuko, even though he's about 36.

Everyone else seems like a good choice though. My biggest wonder would be who they'll have as Iroh.
