Since I have been following some animé series (and finished some as well), I wanted to try a new one. When checking some websites I found a series called One Piece. I have seen some examples/episodes of it and would like to try to follow the first couple of seasons.

But I found out that there are a LOT of episodes untill now (300+). So now I'm wondering if there are any good torrets around for this series. Also, which group (subs) should I check out for the series? Often some groups are better than others.

I dont watch One Piece. Altough I know it has action in it as well, but it seems to me like its a cheap Anime series.Try Series of Gundam, or Naruto, perhaps Billy and Mandy?

Kaizoku are the best fansub group for one piece. They have torrents in batches of 10 for all the eps up to 223, after that you can either wait for kaizoku to sub further episodes or search for them. For the latest epsodes vegapunks releases are really good. I'll pm you the links when I get home.

There is no point in comparing one piece to any of those shows as they are completely different(although there are some similarities with Naruto, both being shonen and having fairly bad filler, thankfully theres not a lot of filler in one piece).
