Burglarized!

We've had some trouble lately with neighborhood children breaking into homes in our area. Last night, they hit our house for the third time since May. My roommate's Xbox360 got stolen, along with 15-20 games. My brand new LLBean backpack and digital camera also got stolen. They even opened the freezer and took a bottle of Vodka and some frozen pork chops! We've got motion lights in the yard and alarm system stickers (no actual system) but they haven't been deterred. Thankfully, they didn't touch the TransFormers. I'm guessing they're too old to be playing with toys and too young to realise the value of my collection, which is fine with me. I'm still pissed about the digital camera though.

Man that sucks.
I've been in that position before as well. A few years back the place I was staying got broken into and lost a PS1, Dreamcast, DVD player, a number of DVD's and CD's.
Luckly my Collection was spared as well but due to damage when they knocked a shelf over, I lost a few Gundam kits.
Maybe it's my background, but i just can't understand how people can have such little respect for others to commit an act of this nature.

We have this problem too, thats why i have alock fireproof master lock and latch on my room downstairs I put the lock on everytime I leave. I hope at least my collection is safe.

That sucks. Really sorry for you, but look on the bright side: you weren't home and no harm came to you or anyone. It does suck that your stuff got stolen, but there's a plus.
My place hasn't been broken into yet. I'm going to go knock on wood now.

My condolences to you.
Might I recommend you get rid of the security system sticker? I’ve often heard those make people more likely to burglarize your home, as they mean you’d probably be relying on them. You might want to invest in security cameras, I don’t believe they cost too much.

This happened to me a little over a year ago too. My collection was spared for the most part, but they did manage to grab a few Alternators which i still had sealed. Approximately $10000 worth of stuff total

. Later I found two calls had been made to Mexico during the burglary which I passed on to the police for no results. I guess it's the price paid for having nice stuff.
Unfortunately, the only reason they took your new backpack was to carry all of your stuff out. That's what we found happened. They also used my wife's bike as a getaway vehicle. Anyways, definitely recommend insurance...come to think of it, there was a discussion on here last year sometime about the subject of insurance.

Sorry to hear that, hope they catch those punks.
I had some trouble with people getting into the house. We used to leave the basement door open when we were home but I started hearing noises from down there. Nothing down there but a toilet and some old tools. Well, when I went looking for a screwdriver, the same one that had been in the basement for 50 years (grandparents house) it was gone along with a lot of tools. Cops didn't care one bit, we didn't see it or could give proof we owned it so they weren't going to do jack.
Fine. House is locked at all times. So then one day we go out to the car and the batteries dead. Someone had turned on the dome light and from what I could tell, while trying to get into the armrest where the $0.55 is held for tolls. So now the car's locked at all times.

We found a nice set of 4 outdoor, night vision, motion detecting cameras and a DVR receiver that'll backup to our home network via USB. $300. But, if we catch them in the act, $300 is a small price to pay, and totally reimbursable by suing the perpetrators (or rather their parents, since we're dealing with minors) once we catch them. And believe me, after 2 broken windows, and over $2000.00 worth of stuff stolen, I'll sue them so quick "it'll make their heads spin," as my parents used to say.

I would usually call the theives a 'bunch of ruthless savages', but somehow it doesn't seem appropriate here.

LUckily, my TF's are all in a box (or 3) n my basement, probably saying "just a bunch of kids toys."
I wouldn't be too bummed if they were stolen.
Unless, of course they got my G1's and BW Razorclaw. Then it's on.
And, I'd be sOOper pizzed if they even left a fingerprint on my guitars.
Just be glad they didn't attack you, or that you had any (obvious) firearms around. No fun at all to be robbed, and I hope something goes right along the way.
On the weapons point:
My uncle has at least 10 loaded, fully operational rifles in his room. Can you imagine if someone made off with those?

That's next year.

I'd be more pissed about losing the Xbox and camera than the TFs, too.

Damn, that sucks. First Counterpunch and now you.
Hopefully everyone takes this as an early warning and takes measures to protect themselves.
As the recession gets worse, I'm sure we will see other's posting "I got burlarized!" threads.

I'm sorry for your loss. A buddy of mine had his house broken into before Christmas, and they made off with most of the presents that were under the tree. I guess this is a very common thing that happens just before the holidays.
People who do this are looking for unopened items (ie gifts), and usually the buyer hasn't had a chance to write the serial number of the product down because it was never taken out of the box.

With any luck we'll start a new viral trend throughout the Transformers fandom!

Just had my garage broken into last night. Kicked the door in after they were unsuccessful in drilling out the deadbolt on the door. Got away with my $350 CD player in my Mustang. That was all they go away with. Pretty sure it was the same people who broke in and stole and amp out the trunk over Labor Day weekend last year. Haven't driven it since. So they pretty much they knew what they were after. I'm sure they tried to steal the car too since they busted off the outside of the ignition. So they ruined that, the factory cabling to the CD player and the panel covering the center console. In all, about $500 worth of parts I need to get to replace the damaged ones. Plus I'm sure labor is going to be expensive. So I am probably looking at over $1k to repair and replace what they did. I only have liability insurance on my Mustang since its sitting in the garage for about half a year. So thats not covered under that and I'm not sure if my home owners insurance is going to cover it either. I still have to see about that. It was a good thing my battery was dead else they could have popped the trunk and gotten away with the whole stereo. That would have totaled four 10" subs, 2 high powered amps, a 1.0 F capacitor and a fuse block. So It looks like I now have to lock my cars in my locked garage because they tried taking some stuff out of my other cars too. Here is to hoping they catch the bastards fast. I am tempted to sit in the dark corner of my garage one night with a shotgun in hand and leave one of the doors open and see if they come back.
