anyone watch Stargate Atlantis?

I am an off and on watcher. They have been playing it on Sci Fi this week as well so I had a chance to watch a few older ones as well. So I am wondering how can Dr Beckett be in some of the new episodes if he just died in Season 3? :???:

He was cloned by the Wraith in an epidsode. it was featured in a commercial bragging about the return of a fan favorite I think.

Yep, clone.

I liked the show, I thought it had been getting a little better. I'm sorry to see it go tomorrow.

Oh ok I had wondered since they managed to bring back Daniel Jackson.

Beckett was blown up, he didn't have the time or knowledge to Ascend like Daniel. Michael cloned him for...I dunno, Michael had issues. I guess for Beckett's ATA gene.

I missed a big number of episodes, but I've been trying to watch the current season as much as possible. (Bill Nye the Science Guy? Oh hell yes) Also, I've spent the last hour or so under the assumption that the finale already aired and I missed it. I really should be sleeping.

On the other hand, both this episode and Vegas were leaked in their entirety to the internet, and I, being unable to avoid spoilers, now know how the series ends.

Let's just say it's going to make the DVD movies VERY interesting.

The last episode is tonight. I missed a lot of episodes too. I was very confused when I saw him die in season 3 yet he was in a new episode just a month or so ago.

To be clear, Beckett had been kidnapped and cloned by Michael off screen. The clone had been on Atlantis and was the one that blew up.

Sheppard and crew while they were trying to save Tayla who Michael captured to take her baby, received a tip that one of their people was being held at one of Michaels facilities. They arrived to early as Tayla hadn't been taken there yet, but found Beckett who thanked them for finally finding him, unaware that they had thought him dead.

Not quite. In Misbegotten, Michael had briefly kidnapped Carson, then later made a clone from the DNA samples he stole. The Carson who died in the episode Sunday was the real Carson, and the one found in The Kindred was the clone. They put him in stasis because he was suffering from cellular degradation.

Sorry, my bad. My fault for trying to catch up while looking after my sisters kids.

It's cool. You were close, you just had it backwards...and more like that episode of SG-1 where O'Neill was replaced with an imperfect teenage clone. Image

That was a fun episode. I wonder if they'll ever mention/ bring back the clone in a future movie.

Somebody that young with Jacks knowledge up to that point could be useful to the SGC.

It is still an interesting plot. It is such a shame they are playing the last episode tonight. I wonder if they will start another spin off?

Wonder not.

The whole reason they are terminating Altantis as a series, (thou they have said we should see some direct movies like SG1, was so they could greenlight Stargate: Universe.

Expect it to be a SG version of Voyager. Robert Carlyle has been announced as the lead role.

Hopefully it is not a bomb like Voyager was. Voyager had some episodes that were interesting but overall it was not near as good as the other series.

Well, in case you missed it:

Spoilers! Highlight and read at your own risk! You have been warned! wrote:Kenny nabs a massive ZPM-powered Hive-ship, then makes a move for Earth. Atlantis follows, with ZPMs provided by Todd.

Long story short, Area 51 and the Chair have been destroyed, Kenny gets blown up by a nuke, and Atlantis has a temporary residence...right off the coast of San Fransisco. (And cloaked)

I have the series finale waiting for me on my DVR, so I have yet to see it, or spoil it for myself.

I can, however, talk about last week's episode.

Vegas threw me. Like a bull on nuclear powered steroids.
I had no friggin' idea what was going on. (Glad I sat through it, because the first few minutes bored me senseless.)

Once I saw the finished product, and realized it's a lead-in to the finale, it all fit and made a heckuva lot more sense.

Once I got past that, I was able to appreciate the production values for the episode.

I mean, actually filming in Vegas? AWESOME.
Soundtrack? AWESOME. Manson. Cash. 'Nuff said.

I mean they really went all out for this one, and I applaud them for it. It really worked out quite well.

I'm just hoping the finale has half the production value Vegas did.

It was also their most expensive episode to date...close to four mill, when the usual episode comes in just under the line at about 2 mill. (per episode!)

They've been given a budget of 7 mill for the first DVD movie, so it should look just as good as Ark Of Truth, if not better.

It's a shame they killed it in favor of Stargate: Voyager Err...I mean Universe. (Oh come on. It's a blatant ripoff of Star Trek Voyager. Google it for more information and see if you don't agree.)

I do hope some of the money they saved on this show goes towards Eureka. If any of their shows deserves anything and everything, it's Eureka. A truly spectacular show.

*sighs* Why Atlantis? There are so many other shows they could've axed...

To be absolutely honest, the Atlantis finale is way better than the SG-1 finale.

But then that doesn't say much, because the SG-1 finale was just disappointing.

From what my husband is hearing a lot of people are mad that SGA has been cancelled. Perhaps it will be like Jericho and make a comeback.
I too was lost with the Vegas Episode. I thought it was CSI at first. Then I thought that one guy was just playing the part of a cop. It was never him to begin with? That was interesting.

It was an alternate universe. They've repeatedly stated in both Atlantis and SG-1 that there are an infinite number of parallel universes, and both that and time travel (Which happens in the event a wormhole passes through a supernova) are frequent plot-points.

Oh OK. That makes sence then. I just read that SG1 was on the air for 10 years. I did not realize it was on for that long. My husband has seen every episode but I miss quite a few of them.

Yep. They had more episodes and, technically, more movies than the X-Files.

Jericho never made a come back, Jericho was simply given time to wrap up it's storyline. CBS never had any intention of giving it a real chance to prove it's self. May they drown in their tonnes of peanuts they were inundated with.

As was stated before, Atlantis ended so they can launch the new series. It probably was premature to end it but when you look at it from the whole Stargate saga perspective, they wanted to get the new show launched sooner rather than later.

Of course now that Atlantis is out of the scheduling way we can finally get to the last seasons of BSG ...
