This is some hilarious shizz right here. They shooped Garfield out of all the strips, making Jon look like some schitzo loser.

I always wondered what the original strips were. Did they just literally erase Garfield out of them, or are these "fanfiction" Garfield strips where Garfield never appears?

They cut him or other characters out of the strips.
Personally I don't get what's so funny about them.

The idea's kinda amusing for a couple of strips, and there are occasional ones that really work. Mostly ones where Jon is doing something really bizarre that, without someone else there providing context, really does make him look insane. But mostly I look at them and think "Yeah, I see what you're going for, but... no."

In otherwords, you like the original strip. ;)

I've seen this before and I don't get it. I understand the concept - but without Garfield, it just isn't the same.

I would, except I hate cats and emo white guys named John.

its the satire of a sad individual whose only friends in life are his pets. if you take out garfields comedy it makes you realize how sad this guy is. i think its awesome. a kinda depressing, lonely sad soul with no friends who's talking to himself. i mean normally he's just talking to his cat and dog, and playing dress up to impress them. either way he's a weirdo :P

he needs a room mate or something

Some are okay, but if it's Garfield Minus Garfield, where's Odie? Or anyone else? Rarely can you carry a strip for so long with literally only one character. In fact, I think only the Book of Biff has done it so well for so long.
