Well, that stinks. I rarely shopped at Circuit City, but it was always fun to look through the weekly ad to see if they had anything on sale. Plus if they did have anything on sale I usually just priced matched it at Wal-Mart since I work there(of course, that didn't do the store any favors....)

Either way, I'm going to miss the store a little bit. Got some good deals there.

Looks like The Source stores in Canada will stay open though. Oh well, I don't shop there anyways.

I hate that the media is trying to portray CC demise as a result of the countries current economic situation because it isn't.

Just like KB, they sold items at way too high of prices. My CC still had original Xbox and PS2 games for 60 bucks. Come on!

I hate giving money to best buy. After the run around they gave me last time they tried to fix my computer (4 trips on 5 mile ride and it turned out not being finished after they told me over the phone it was done.) Years ago I could say "at least there's media play and circuit city"

No I can't say that as they've both gone under. :-(

It's awesome when companies go out of business and there's less choice for consumers!

That's a shame, I preferred shopping at Circuit City over Best Buy. Oh well, there's still Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon.com...

Yeah, I am really going to rejoice when thousands of people with families are losing their jobs.

I will cry for them when they cry for me... Oh that's right, they won't cry for me because this is the end of the world for them, isn't it? This always has to happen to them. It's not fair, they wake up, go to work, struggle to make a living and this is what happens. I mean they have kids for Krist sake, right? All they want is a roof over their heads and food on their plates, but that is now gone as well...

...BS!

/Start Rant

Notice how the people who do real things for a living are never out of work? The people who have dreams and goals that extend beyond the word me? The people who make energy breakthroughs or find solutions to global issues are always in need and will never be 'laid-off'. The people that inspire ingenuity and hope through example...

These people that you two are so quick to shine a light on can be the people I described... If they wanted it. Not for themselves, but for those around them. You will always fall short of your expectations. When you aim low, you end up with nothing. When you aim for the sky, you will fall short, but far beyond anywhere you would normally end up.

A wise man once said, "A society is only as advanced as its worse example."

Where, exactly, does humanity stand when our worse examples are the same peasants we had before the renaissance? Regardless of technological advances, the masses of the world are hungry, poor, happy to go to bed but saddened to awaken the next day?

I would love to be able to blame TV, video games or the internet for this, but they are modern distractions in the modern age. This mentality roots itself well before electricity ever made an appearance...

But what is the origin of this 'mental disorder' of self-depreciation and lowered expectations? What is older then hell and teaches people that they are naturally evil, powerless to institute change in their lives and to quest for something better on earth would be futile..?

Whatever it is, it needs to be stopped for humanities sake. It is destroying us as a whole while keeping us divided...

You must live in a fantasy world. When there are less jobs then the available work force then many people will suffer.

I'm terribly sad to see Circuit City go under. I liked their deals, I liked their service, and the stores were always clean.

However, their prices were always just one bit too high compared to the competition (outside of deals), and their stock was low. (Always a pain in the neck to find something in stock when I wanted it...)

Still, without competition, Best Buy will become the electronics equivalent of Wal*Mart, and that's no good either.

I detest Best Buy. Their employees are lazy and rude, their stores have filthy floors, their prices are starting to climb (now that CC is dead), and their return policy SUCKS.

I wonder if this will force Wal*Mart to build up their offerings in Electronics so they can compete and then destroy BB?

I'll admit, WM is a monster, and shouldn't be getting any of my money, but I do like to be able to have things at affordable prices and have money left over when it's all said and done.

Still...568 stores, something like 30,000 people without a job now. I see nothing to rejoice in. I do see that the people rejoicing in it, are total @$$holes. The smelly unwashed kind.

And anyone that rejoices over lost jobs is a tool.

Well...sh*t. This was the only large electronics store at home. I hope they replace it with a Best Buy, cuz I need a giant electronics store.
