Peta, who have tried in the past some of the stupidest stuff like trying to get ben and jerry's ice cream to use human breast milk instead of cow milk (they claimed the cows were mistreated and the milk machines hurt them) have now turned their attention towards fish.

They think that by rebranding fish as 'sea kittens' on the idea that no one would want to eat a kitten. well thanks to Stephen Colbert we have a way of fighting back as he has renamed cats 'land fish.'

That is total discrimination!

What about the fresh water fish? Or the Whales and other sea-dwelling mammals? Where do they fit into this new name-scheme. Maybe we should call whales sea-cows... mmmm sounds delicious actually.

Wow. Looks like PETA has officially adopted the damned stupidest strategy in the history of strategies.

Phase 1 - Make some ridiculously idiotic move like "funbag milk for making Cherry Garcia", to garner attention.

Phase 2 - If by some unfathomable miracle of the cosmos, the suggestion WORKS and people ACCEPT or DO it  , claim victory and go back to phase 1 after celebrating.

Phase 3 - If the move is met by global derision and branding PETA a bunch of fecktards and loonies, say that it was a joke all along and that nobody has a sense of humor.

Yeah I heard about them trying get Spearfish High School in Spearfish, South Dakota to change the name to Sea Kitten High School. I really don't think they realize Spearfish was the name of the town. Bunch of idiots.

I never understood the problem with the breast milk idea. I know I'd work in that milking parlour.

PETA just gets it wrong.

I really just can't understand how they can keep doing stupid media tricks that (i guess must be effective to some point) alienate themselves from reality, and make some of their members look like smucks.

I can understand the whole not wearing fur issue seeing we have modern alternitives, but the believe that changing a name will stop us from eating meat is silly. After all, people have been eating catfish for ages, and even the word baby doesn't stop people.

Still the seakittens bit isn't as bad as their attack on "Cooking Mama" a couple weeks back.

I remember that to.. and the KFC one.. theyd made flash games about them, the KFC one I kinda got what they were going for... but Cooking Mama?.. is PETA trying to tell us eating/cooking food is cruel to animals? or are DS game cards made out of puppy teeth or something? :?

Their 'beef' with Cooking Mama, is that (as far as they can see) every recipe has you cooking meat as food. They feel this is more vile furthering of the meat agenda, and that playing the game will somehow increase the numbers of animals killed for food.

They have also tried to petition Ubisoft (it is ubi isn't it?) or whichever company is responcible for the games to release a Vegi/Vegan edition of the game to increase awareness on non meat alternitives. (or as I see it, likely to be the worst selling Cooking Mama editon.)

If thats their case (which wouldnt surprise me) thats stoopid.. My fiancee plays Cooking Mama on the DS quite alot.. she said theres all kinds of recipes, including meals that use tofu, boiled rice dishes, fried rice, and pan fried vegetables to name a few..

Im a vegetarian myself, in all honesty not by choice.. unfortunatley I inherited a pretty dodgy stomach from my father.. which means I cant digest meat properlly, (and a very long list of other things..) eating even a small amount results in me being quite unwell for some time :\

If anything my biggest gripe is going out for meals and only having 3 options available on the menu.. its most frustrating.. Im all for animals being treated fairly though.. no living thing needs to be put through unnessercary pain.. man or beast. I have no problem with humans eating meat so long as the animal hasnt suffered needlessly..

..I knew there was something about them.. man, Chuck Norris is actually made out of win isnt he? Is there anything he cant do?! lol.

Whenever the PETA college protesters start protesting KFC, I go to KFC for lunch after class and eat my meal in front of them.

Are'nt they trying to buy Sea World so they can set the animals free? Most of whom were raised in captivity. I could be wrong on the captivity part, but last time I was at Sea World, it seemed like alomost every animal there was raised in captivity and therefore unable to live in the wild.

And the PETA people wonder why no one takes them seriously.

And by the way, according to that vast bank of misinformation called Wikipedia, these are the same people who support the "humane" euthenasia of shelter animals. :?

Sea Kittens? PETA Sucks, but hey, cute name for baby Catfish  The day PeTa becomes awesome is the day I hate Sailor Moon, Hell Frezes Over, Hillary Clinton becomes President, and The Sun goes red giant. At the same time.
