Police and prosecutors say Katona lost at least $186,500 in county funds last year to one of the notorious Nigerian investment frauds, the kind of seemingly transparent schemes that people delete from their e-mail boxes every day.

"Here we have a gentleman that not only has been the treasurer for 13 years ... but he's got an extensive financial background," said State Police Sgt. Steve Harshberger, who investigated the case. "And he still allowed himself to knowingly get involved in this."

I watch too many police dramas. Was this storyline done on Law and Order: CI or CSI? I don't recall which but I'm leaning toward CI but I thought the same thing while watching the show. But at least that was fictional. It does take a right retard to fall for such scams but it happens every day.

It was on Law and Order: CI.

I like it when it talks about why people fall for these scams because they want to feel as though something good has finally happened to them. Even if that is the case, this a$$ should spend a good amount of time locked up for using money that didn't belong to him.

What?

I personally know the Prince of Nigeria and he has personally guaranteed that my 10k investment will triple in the next three months.

Why would the Prince of Nigeria lie to me?
