Ok i'm gonna spill it all here everything my likes and hates (yes hates) and what went on in the movie, if u don’t wanna know until u see the movie yourself then stop reading here........SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!
ok so the intro was kewl. When Pete had the symbiot he was all emo. That was funny
Showed the highlights of both movies 1-2. sandman kicked ass and has a lot of screen time. Harry was weird....ok in the comics he went crazy from doing drugs and boozing like a hobo. in the movie he went crazy from the OZ doses he was taking like his dad, but he has seemed to fixed it and isn’t as crazy as Norman. u see he has upgraded his dads old station behind the mirror and is all tech'ed out. the goblin costume was a bit annoying. they could of re worked the old suit for Harry but noooooo anyways. also pretty much in the beginning he and Pete get into a fight. he hits his head hard and Pete takes him to the hospital. he has memory loss and forgets about spider-an being Pete and his dad ect. during his time where he’s forgotten things he’s really stupid. He has a huge bump on his head but MJ at one point sees that his head is healed.
Later on Pete goes back and they fight a pumpkin bomb gets tossed back at him and he’s horribly scarred… ok the Oz has healing properties. First off if they showed his head healing his face should of gotten better pretty fast. It seemed like it might of gotten better near the end of the film but I could either be my wishful thinking or the angle and lighting was different on his face. Oh and the jerk died at the end
Gwen Stacy was sin it along with her dad. her char was so annoying. they made her really stupid.\She wasn’t stupid, pretty smart if I remember right. she was in it quite a bit. even did the upside-down kiss with Spidey like he did with MJ in movie 1. now the whole MJ Gwen thing could of easily been fixed in movie 1 with it being Gwen instead of MJ and she dies like in the comics then in movie 2-3 is where MJ is a big part. anyways ya.
And so onto venom. Venom kicked so much butt. He looked great but didn’t have enough screen time. He should have had way more. Much of him was a blur cuz he was going so fast in the fighting. Ok as ppl who read the comics know when venom talks he has a differntent voice. But in the movie when he talked and his symbiot moved away to show Eddie it was the same voice. They totally wrote out the whole dual personalities and had plenty of chances to use it. Several times Spidey says “Eddie!” and that’s when he could have been like “There is no Eddie…ONLY VENOM!!!” that would of rocked….and when Venom was running amuck he has this shrieking noises that reminded me of a raptor from Jurassic park. I know he has this sort of roar but they made him really animalistic….it did changes his character a bit. At the end some metal beams fell down and made a high pitch noise that venom hated. Spidey the took the bars and put them all around venom making a sound prison. Spidey pulled Eddie out of it separating him from the symbiot. Spidey the grabs a pumpkin bomb tosses it at the symbiot and Eddie jumps in with it trying to save it and him and the symbiot both blew up……they died!!!! They do died. You saw eddied ribcage in the explosion leaving no way for venom to come back for another movie if anymore are made…… gahhhhhh im so mad they killed him. First not enough screen time then killed forever.
Finnaly it just sort of ended with Harry’s funeral like it did in movie 1 with Norman’s. there was no real closer to the series. I know there might be more movies later on but it just could have had a better ending. Over all I give the movie a B. but I honestly could of written it a lot better as I have said with the past 2 movies.

I have to admit, I was really looking forward to seeing this until I saw the trailer on TV the other night. The CGI looks overused and pretty poor. I saw the first one at the IMAX and it was the worst film (visually) I have ever seen.

Sorry I had to do that. But I went the nerd route and saw the 12:05 show. I must say I loved it. It wasn't perfect And you can tell Raimi Doesn't have a appreciation for the Duality of venom. He could not see past his motivated hate for Peter. So if your a real venom fan expect to be disappointed. But I think Raimi finally gets Spidey right. For once even before he gets the black suit. Spidey has confidence and he's cocky "you must not know whose the sheriff round here". Now for the "Saturday Night Fever part" very easy to explain. Have you ever wondered what Bill Gates was like the day he made his 1st Million from Microsoft? I'll tell you he bebopping In the middle of street like nerd he was. That what peter was he was Nerd who finally thought he was cool or a rebel. the expressions of "WTF is this white boys problem" on all of the women's faces is almost worth the price of admission. The Mask Scene was a little over done, and damnit why did I have to hear MJ sing again. Bryce Dallas Howard would have made a Perfect MJ she has curves and looks a hell of a lot closer to a model then Dunst plus she's a lot more vibrant and personable then Dunst. If dunst showed up at my door and said "face it tiger you just hit the Jackpot" I probably would have followed it up with "What..., do you swallow?" I loved the effects of SP3, and the thought I kept thinking is "Raimi doesn't give a F$ck about this being or looking ludicrous." What he did is take a risk. maybe now we see things like a 100 ft. tall Galactus, a Alien invasion headed by Darkseid. Kudos man keep trying to push the envelope. But There was way too much Crying, way to Pining ove lost love and "the Twist" scene annoyed me but I saw the neccessity of it those annoying moments made you enjoy the moments when Harry and Peter cut loose. and sorry to Disagree with SN but Franco was born to do the "Coffee House" scene as harry Osborn it was his best scene of his short career. The Butler was pointless I wish they had hired someone who could act or maybe had stan do that part with a better script. Speaking Of Stan his Cameo was also very good, and if this is Spidermans swan song it was fitting. I think Brock was nice but the Venom thing was too brief, and They do nothing to explain the black ooze. Something they did in early 90's cartoon briefly but completely. I wished Peter would have been a little darker maybe use a swear word or two but what he is, is a evil nerd which explains the bebopping. Raimi PO'ed me with the following Killing Brock, Killing harry just when i was starting to like him. Not killing MJ, and the Sandman, and Peter returning to his emo roots in the end. Sorry If took too much time and didn't paragraph enough I give movie a B+ a little Pretentious but clearly head and shoulders above any other Comic book movie.

Um.. What about the piece that Doctor Connor still had in his lab.
It had it's flaws here and there BUT it was a highly enjoyable movie (I saw the 12:01 showing).

So far, the worst thing I've heard about it is that, while it IS very good, and a step up from most comic movies, it's not AS good as Spidey 1 and 2.
But let's be fair, it's hard to beat Spidey 2.

I caught the midnight showing as well, and I must say that it was an interesting film. I kinda feel like all the subplots where just thrown at us. It suffered from the multi-villian syndrome that plagued the Batman films. There was really no need for Sandman, as cool as he was in the film. And Venom was under used ( I don't believe he uttered his name at all). The "love triangle" was standard fare, nothing to get excited about. Goblin's portrayal was great. Number 2 is still my favorite, but this one had much more action. Oh, and this one is the cheesiest as well.

It's Sam Raimi. Aren't fun, cheesy movies supposed to be his speciality?

Here's a thought might this story line have been better told over two movies rather than in the one? I know no one (Raimi, Maguire and Dunst) other than Sony seems very keen to make another movie, which is probably why they tried to cram so much in this one, but that is the main problem with this movie. It had too many ideas and not enough time to fully explore them. There was more than enough to keep Spidey busy what with the new Golbin, Gwen Stacy, Eddie Brock, Sandman and the symbote suit without having Venom created and destroyed within the space of about half an hour. This could have been the 'Empire Strikes back' of a four part series of movies, ending with Parkers life in tatters after the symbote has turn him into everything he ever hated, the Press and the City turned against him, Mary Jane in the arms of Osborn, and a brand new super-villain (Venom) on the loose and out for his blood. The fourth move could see him reconciled with Harry, win back Mary Jane and Defeat Venom, maybe with another villain thown in for colour, the Lizard maybe seeing as hes already featured as Dr Connors in both Spider-man 2 & 3. Its only an idea but I personally think that would have worked better and would have been a more fitting ending to what has so far been an awesome series of movies. As it stands I hope they don't make any more Raimi or no Raimi, I that's coming from a massive Spider-man fan.

They actually tried to make it two, but the writers could think of a good climax that would deserve a second movie.
But they wrapped it up in one, as long and complex as it may be.
Now I need a Wii and the Spidey 3 game.

the main problem i have with the movie (aside from it being cringe worthy) was how he looked in the mirror and became an emo.

He didn't become Emo for the first time he wasn't emo we was a evil nerd. Emo goth kids dont bebop down the street like Vinny Bobarino. and do the Gun fingers at all the chicks they see in the street. Thats what happends when a nerd gets too full of himself.

Yeah that pretty much wrapped up my feelings. It was pretty decent. And so much better than the hugely lackluster Spider-Man 2. I don't care what anyone says. That second movie was horrible.
Venom was done well enough but like someone else said. Where was the back story on the symbiote? It just happens to land and we're never told where it comes from. Venom himself was a bit off as well. No dual voice or echo like even the 94 cartoon had. I hated how his mouth would disappear and reappear at random. One second it's huge with muscle tissue and the next it's the size of a humans. And where was his tongue?! Don't get me wrong I like McFarlanes version but it's nowhere near as iconic as the one I've described.
Sandman was pretty much useless. They could have certainly found ways for Harry or Brock to fuel his anger without having to retcon in a new character involved in Uncle Ben's death. Just seemed like a waste of space that could have been used for other stuff. Or even to cut the movie time down by about 20 minutes.
And is anyone else tired of all the useless dancing and babbling? It wasn't "Raindrops keep falling on my head" cringe worthy but it was close. The first movie was a pretty straight forward, serious take on the Spider-Man origin. Then Raimi had to start throwing in all of the horrible Evil Dead humor he seems to think is hilarious.
But like I said. Still better than the second movie and right behind the first one.

Spider-man 2 was the "Empire Strikes Back" and this was the "Jedi Returns." By the way, Bruce Campbell's cameo in this one was the best ever!!! Did anybody else start laughing their ass off before the camera even panned to him? As for the emo part, I thought it was blatantly making fun of emo 'culture' so I was laughing my ass of that whole sequence.

It was sad to see Venom go the way of Darth Maul, there was just so much potential. Overall though, I would rank it at 2 with the first spider-man at the top. Now I just hope they get around to making another movie, but this time with SM greatest villian, Shocker.

Yeah because Spider-man 2 ends with Spider-man saving the day, getting the girl, and clearly loved by all but Harry Osborne. You're right that's just like the similarly upbeat ending of Empire, the Rebels all but beaten and on the run, Han Solo frozen is carbonite an sold to a crime lord and Luke (sans hand) coming to terms with discovering his father is the right hand man of the Ultimate evil in the universe. Yeah Spider-man 2 is so much like Empire I'm shocked I didn't notice that myself

I've just watched the movie.
I think it's a good movie, but not as good as Spider-Man 2.
Some things I didn't like about the third movie:
- The voice of Venom
- Venom isn't muscular
- Sandman changed into a big monster
- Why the **** did Venom work with Sandman? It doesn't fit Venom at all.
- Green Goblin hoverboard. It looks as *** as the hoverboard from Back to the Future.
As for the action scenes: Awsome!

The first fight and the final fight in the movie were very great.
It was also great to see Peter Parker go evil by the symbiot suit. I loved the scene in which Peter humiliates Mary Jane (Peter smacked down Mary Jane

).
BTW: Has anyone noticed that Stan Lee was talking to Peter Parker?

i was laughing as soon as they panned to him it was great =) but what does he have to do with spiderman i mean i know he was in the first two movies also as cameos was he the voice of spiderman in the cartoons or something?????? anyways looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooved venom..... oh and venom DOES speak w/o pulling back to eddie... right when he first starts talking to sandman in the allyways venom is talking to him and eddie's voice is comming out...... but it was too fast paced and bryce dallas howard was soooooooooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooottttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt in this movie i wish venom didnt die he was such a 2-3 movie charecter
did anyone else wish that harry flew in at the end of the movie with the chrome green goblin gear they showed in his mansion at the begining of the movie???? when they panned to harry walking out of the chamber they showedthe row of the green goblin mask, achrome green goblin mask, and the new goblin mask...
oh and if harry had healing ablities wouldnt that mean he can't........ die?? so couldnt him and his dad still "come back from the dead????

Better than 1. Little worse than 2. I liked Venom in this, but he was not used properly. Nor did he get enough screentime. They could easily have had this movie deal with Sandman and Harry (but not kill him. Just end with him getting back his memories, but not doing anything about it yet). This one ended with The black suit getting ripped off and bonded to Venom, with the last shot the zooming towards him as he is bonded intially that they did use. Giving Venom the majority of 4 to be the main villain, with harry needed to help stop him. But alas, Venom was just an add on. A very nice add on, but an add on none the less.
They just tried to cram too much into this movie. Nice to see the Stacy's in it though. And Stan Lee. The man gets EVERYWHERE!! But it's all good. I like his cameos.
