Fender Bender's sister gets into a Fender Bender

Some teenie-boppers coming back from their lunch break weren't paying attention and went through a stop sign. Unfortunately, my sister was going through the intersection herself at the time and they hit her. My sister is alright, although she has a giant bump on her forehead.

My sister paid about $3800.00 for it, and the estimated damages are about $5300.00. So this one will be joining the rest in my sig. Which is really dissappointing as the car still runs fine. I should also note that the other driver got a failure to yield ticket, and the other car could not drive away from the accident since the driver side front tire was totally messed up. (makes me feel a little better about the whole thing to be honest)

Anyway, on to what you all want to see :P, the pics:

Take the license plate pic down for you and your family's security.

I'm glad she's alright. I really really hate careless drivers....

I bought a new car back in September of last year. Like a week prior to Christmas someone plows into it at a red light.

I couldn't believe the luck.

He was drunk of course, arrested for DUI and all that.

The best part and I do love this; His car was totaled.

Mine? Needed a new bumper. I have a Dodge Caliber and aparently in addition to it being X-Brawn, it's a tough SOB too.

Yikes... I was in a similar accident a few years ago. Some 17 year old kid was learning how to drive with his mother riding shotgun (that's my theory anyway) and coasted right through a stop sign. Totalled both cars I think (I know mine was). The dumb little ****... I had to go to the chiropractor for a few months to get my neck & back adjusted. The sad thing, I was only going 30 down a side road.

I think it was my economics teacher in high school who called cars "death machines." It's pretty much what they really are, at least under some people's control (or lack thereof).

Yeah, my sister was going down a city street near the High School at about the same speed. I wish I would have brought my camera down to the scene of the accident though so everyone could see how mad the other driver's Mom was. She was making her daughter pick up pieces of the car laying on the ground everywhere and cursing the hell outta her.

What? No picture of your sister for me to check out? BAH! Another disappointing thread by Fender Bender. :P

Stupid teenie boppers though. There's been a few accidents with them around here lately as well. :?

I guess that's why people don't get to drive till they are 18 here.

That's a damn good idea. They should only be able to get a learner's permit, until they're 18 and then get a license. Or maybe people should have a learner's permit for two full years before getting their license, no matter what age they are. With 18 being the youngest age for a license. All the time on the news you hear stories of teenagers causing and getting into wrecks because they're inexperienced. Yet they have a license to drive on their own. :-?

Heck yeah they can. I guess the other person's insurance company has already tried to screw with my sister. She said that she was doped up, and just woke up when they called her asking all kinds of questions in an attempt to make her screw up.

This frustrates me to no end. It is obvious that the other driver was at fault, but her insurance company is trying its hardest to pin the blame on my sister to get out of paying for the accident. :-x

Hey Fender Bender, what year and model is that car? I ask because the airbags don't look like they deployed correctly. Typically they will both deploy in an accident that sets off the front sensors. Also the passengers side bag ripped apart the dash. They typically tear out cleanly because they're perforated.

I'm interested because I research crashes for the DOT. They like us to send up things to them that don't look right. It may be nothing, but it's interesting.

That's cool. Her car is a 98 Dodge Intrepid. She said that the Air Bag light has been lit since buying it (the seller said it was a bad sensor though). The guy is a family friend, so I trust what he says though.

Ouch. Luckily for me my car wreck was pretty silent. Me and my friends were still pretty much in shock and the other driver was too.

Be sure and call your insureance company and let them know about their doing this. They are not suppost to do that; in fact they just broke the law.
