Wanted: Bass, Guitar, Keys For Transformers Project...

If you're reading this, you're probably a Musician fan of the Transformers Mythos, and are well aware that there is a Live action movie due to be released this summer. Well, being that there's a mania that'll be sweeping the country surrounding this "Blockbuster movie", I think now is the perfect time to get to work on a project I've ben dying to to get going...

I'm a Drummer, and a HUGE Transformers Fan(My Drum Kit is called "Metroplex"; see below). At present, I am in an active Rock Band that plays out around Chicago, and wherever else we can. However, I have always wanted to get together with some musicians and Jam on some of the music from the original Transformers Movie Soundtrack(the Score stuff, mainly). The music is certainly not for the faint of heart... The Riffs and Melodies are quite technical, and they really do Rock as hard as one might imagine.

As it happens, a good buddy of mine is the webmaster of a well-respected transformers website, and he runs it right out of Chicago. He's mentioned numerous times how cool it would be to get local musicians to cover Transformers Tunes. He would then host the music on his website, so the songs would be made available for thousands of TransFans across the world to hear! This particular website gets upwards of 60,000 hits every day, and that includes visits from Hasbro, IDW, Sony BMG, and Paramount Studios.

What I am proposing is not necissarily starting a Band, but a gathering of Musically inclined, technically proficient TransFans to Rock Out on some of the tunes from the Original Transformers Movie Score. As noted, a 'Project'. This would probably mean meeting once or twice a week for a couple hours or more to rehearse, then getting the music Recorded(I've got that part taken care of; details upon request). I would certainly like each person involved to put their own personal trademarks into the music that's created, even though these will have to be classified as "Cover Tunes". So if you are a serious Keyboard/Synth player, Guitarist, or Bassist, and you like to Rock Hard, Please respond to this message. The sooner the 4 of us can get in touch, the sooner we can Jam. I'd really like to get going on this ASAP.

Till All Are One!

P.S. Stan Bush's "The Touch" is NOT to be included in this venture. This is mainly about the Score Material written by Vince DiCola.

Pretty cool idea.

I was thinking of making some kind of tribute or a cover version in the style of Lion's TF-theme for the summer but made the mistake of following the movie happenings a bit too closely and I can't get my home studio running again until November. :P

I'm a guitarist myself but I live in Finland.

Good luck on the project.

Ps. Pretty sweet drumkit you got there UM.

That's great that you want to get together and jam cover tunes, however I hope your not planning on selling these recordings for profit! That would infringe upon the copyrights of the score held by Mr. DiCola. If your just jammin then givin it away thst's different. I'm sure everyone would love to hear these songs performed as cover tunes.

I'm a drummer so I guess that would not do you any good! Plus I live too far away.
