I have seen 3 different Evangelion Perfect Grade kits. The first one, released along with The End of Evangelion in 1997 has artwork of Shinji and the Rei/Kauru thing. Another has an image of Unit 01 from what looks to be Episode 24. The third is a mostly red box and weighs a ton.
Anybody know what the differences between these 3 are?

I finally found out what the third one is. It's a resin kit and stands 60cm tall!

Strange. The last one I saw on ebay went for over six hundred USD. Guess that settles the question of "keep or sell?" eh?

Resin models tend to be several shades more hardcore (in terms of build difficulty as well as overall sculpting) than their Injection counterparts from what I hear. I think it all depends on how serious a modeller you are....
Personally, I'm not. I'd sell the res kit in a heartbeat, and for some pretty hefty coin considering their expense (and, often, rarity.)

Resin kits can be good. Look at G-system. I've got a RX-78 1/35 and it's pretty nice, from what I can tell. I haven't built it yet though.

Also true. Like I said, if you've got the skill, patience, and equipment, they're pretty much unparalleled.
