Okay, I'm reading Penny Arcade for the first time and going through a 10-year history. I come across this one from 2001 and see a Dreamland Chronicles reference. Not knowing what it is, I Wikipedia it (that's right; I coined that as a verb probably not the first) and find out it's a comic book series written in 2006. WT*? How can this comic reference something that hadn't been written for 5 years?

There must be another Dreamland Chronicles out there, right? Or am I going batty? Or both?

If I remember correctly, and seeing how long ago that strip was, That Gabe and Tycho were talking about a game that was canned, and not the web comic/comic book series in the Wiki entry, (which by the way is a good read)

If you really want to see a prediction of the future, try watching the the 6th and 7th season of The West Wing, where they pretty much set up the entire 2008 presidencial election two years in advance.
