First off. Zombies kick ass. Secondly. Nobody since Romero has done anything as good with Zombies as Brooks.

The son of Mel Brooks, Max has authored two books about Zombies. The first is The Zombie Survival Guide and the second is World War Z. I own both and they are both highly recommended.

What's even greater is World War Z is being turned into a movie. We need a good zombie movie after 28 months and what is sure to be a horrible movie, Resident Evil Extinction or whatever they are calling it.

A film adaptation is due for release in 2008 after the rights were obtained by Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment, with the screenplay being written by J. Michael Straczynski of Babylon 5 fame.

Seriously?! I've heard nothing but good things about it. I gotta get those books when I get the money.

I don't care how much Zombies scare me, I want those books.

Except it's from one of the greatest horror writers since Bram Stoker or Mary Shelley.

At least that's what I heard.

I wouldn't go that far when his books are still print over
100+ years then we'll talk.

I still think 99% of all zombie films are stupid (except for Plague of the Zombies that one rocks)

I've always been wondering about this... What's so great about dead people, decaying corpses walking around trying to eat people? I've never really understood the appeal of it.

mostly its that they are a blank slate which one can preject their own fears of mortality and death!

Plus in the best zombie films the real enemy is not the zombies, but other people! The stupidly and fears cause the death of those around them-it is watching humanity fall apart (and heads explode) that makes zombie films rock!!!

well zombies have no personlity (=blank), which basicly means that they are the unliving face of death, reflecting back at u nothing but ur own fear, guilt, horror and all that other bad juju
