Does anyone know just what the job "flow" is at Target?

Its refering ot the Flow Team in which I work on

We unload the trucks and stock out the freight

Since my store is considered an "A" volume store which means we do lots of business we go in at 10pm-6:30am

Other stores that do our kind of volume go in from 4am to 12pm

A tad off topic but I applied for "team leader" or what ever they call department heads at Target and the 4-12 shift was offered to me. I didn't get the job which is probably a good thing as I doubt they could pay me the $13 per hour I get as a department head at Kroger. Despite that I hear Target's a decent place to work.

I worked for Target for about a month a half until I came to the realization that it was run by a pack of idiots. I was hired as a cashier, but because they can't seem to grasp the concept that their cart attendents are high school students and that scheduling them during the morning and day time just doesn't work - effectively leaving them with no people to collect carts, I spent more time collecting carts than at a register. I decided it wasn't worth it and just didn't come back.

Your right about that I have been at my store for six years and the idiots that run this place have made tons of people leave

Pulsar

My former team leader made close to $15 an hour but she was there for 10 years

Sounds like the pay scale is close to Kroger then. I live too comfortably on what I make to start over or take any sort of cut ;)

And it's not just Target that's run by morons. You'll find that at any company especially in retail. A lot can depend on the store management too. Our previous manager was laid back and did what it took to keep us as well as the customers happy. Our new manager is so afraid of screwing up he does everything by the book and won't even question the company when it contradicts itself.

This is why I'm glad I did some college and don't have to work in food or retail.

Funny last night we were talking about the college grads who come in as mgrs and no experiance in the store level

They do good in business classes but yet realize its a different monster then what a book told them

That's so true. And thanks to the fact that Kroger is a union store I actually make more than most co-managers.

Nothing wrong with working in retail as a manager.

I was a manager for a grocery chain for years and I made considerably more money than my friends with college degrees working jobs they went to school for.
