The Official Weird Al Yankovic Thread!

OK, as Transfans we have history with Al. Yet, in all of this forum there are NO threads dedicated to His Weirdness at all, which is extremely surprising...

...so HERE IT IS! The beginning of the Official Weird Al Yankovic thread. All things Al are open here. I do hope we all enjoy it and have fun.

Of note is today's release of the second single from Weird Al's upcoming as-yet-unnamed album. THe song is called "Craigslist" and is very obviously a style parody: an original song written in the style of none other than...The Doors! The first single, "Whatever You Like" - a parody of T.I's song of the same name- has been out for a couple months and been getting rave reviews. What do you think?

Share your Al experiences here! Share your favorites! Share your lunch with me! Enjoy!

Weird Al is cool. I met him at Botcon and he was a great guy. I have seen him twice in concert too. He puts on some great shows. I am a little meh on his new song but maybe it will grow on me.

The Doors? Holy crap!
Also, we had a Weird Al thread 1 or 2 years ago but it died...

Al is a great guy. I went to a concert a couple years back and there were about 75 of us waiting to see him as he went to his car...and he invited all of us in, signed autographs and took pictures with us. A class act and a really friendly guy. I can't wait for his next tour...will be my 7th time seeing him in concert.

W.A.Y. Rocks. UHF was one of the craziest, and funniest movies I've ever seen. You Hardly ever see someone who can sing, and is funny. The only other person I can think of is Rodney Carrington.

To tie this in with Micheal Jackson the very first time I heard Weird Al was when he did "Eat it"...then later on he went on and did "Fat" which I love

But my favorite alltime is Amish Paradise

I gotta say that Weird Al is quite possibly the greatest thing to ever happen to music. I love his parodies, they always sound just like the real songs. I wish I could've gone to BotCon this year (he was there wasn't he?) to meet him, he just seems like the kinda guy I could be friends with.

Why, yes, he was.

Wait, new album coming out? Awesome!

I've been a fan since Even Worse, got it on cassette way back in the day, and I've picked up everything else since then. My ringtone has been White 'N Nerdy since it came out.

Weird Al rules!!

Yep...new album should be out this fall I think. Two tracks released already are "Whatever You Like" (parody of "Whatever You Like" which is a horrid song and deserved it, IMHO) and a Doors-style parody called "Craigslist". Both are hilarious...
