Where to start?

Basically, about 4-5 years ago, I had a megaton of Transformers, mostly Beast Wars and RID, but I still had quite a bit. Now, admittedly, I was still a kid and a lot of these got broken, but I know there are people who would know how to fix these and inform me, but the problem is... I have no idea where they are. I have searched my entire house about 6 times in the last little while, and all of my transformers from way back are missing, but the movies and games have re-peaked my interests and I want more (or at least one, all I can find is some scarab Predacon thing), but I'm not sure where to start my new collection, should I recollect the ones I had? Should I go and get the movie ones? Should I get some G1 Transformers?
You're the Xperts, you tell me.

thats really not a question others can answer for you.
G1 are quite expensive now at days, that rules them out for me.
Its a matter of taste and disposable income really.
Are you a completist, or do you just get the ones you think look cool?
I like a few from animated, maybe 1 or 2 from each of the Unicon trilogy lines, a couple from the movies, most of g1 and g2 and even some go-bots. I'd love to own some Masterpiece pieces, but they cost more than i can afford. But i'm getin the SDCC soundwave!
Basically i reccommend buy what you like, and don't break the bank (ok, occasionally break the bank, but make it worth it)

I'm not a completeist in any way, shape or form (Even in alt mode!). I like Transformers for their personality and how cool they look.... Also I purchase grey animated Shockwave, because I was talking to a person on live (who is somewhere on this site, he goes by Shadow Fenrir24 on live, and Omega something or other here) and he mentioned he couldn't find it, so I figured I'd get this figure... but I'm experiencing some serious 'buyer's remorse', as his vehicle modes are rather lame, and he just feels and looks cheap.
Also bank wise my set limit is $60, but I may go over for a few good figures.
Also also I really like Decepticons in general and Beast Wars Transmetals!

Personally i buy what appeals to me, i'm not a completist I just grab what i like. If your into beast wars collect those but remember it's your collection, get what you want and do it the way you want.
