Me, the answer is me!
Yup I took my final final exam Spanish oral today and while it sucked today I still passed it!

So now I'm an accredited foreign language correspondent in Spanish (I sure as hell hope I never have to use that) and English.
So hellz yea! I now have a profession I don't care about.

Good job! Even if you don't care about it, at least you set a goal and accomplished it. I never graduated from college, I'm still working on it. Anyway, congrats!

I took a bit of formal Spanish in high school, went to Mexico and discovered they were 2 totally different things and got further by writing pictures in the dirt with a stick. Cerveza was a universal word but after that it was all Pictionary.
But hey, good for you on accomplishing that goal!

I didn't look you up I think the basic idea of doing such a thing in a public manner to be pretty sh*t.

I use it quite a bit.

I can generally get a good idea of when the kid was just a moron and decided to complain because his incompetence was what got him a bad grade. The internet shorthand and emoticons are typically dead giveaways.

Before I sign up for a class, I request a syllabus so I can get an idea of how the teacher thinks. If the syllabus has anything related to psychology/sociology or communications aspects of a course, I try to avoid it because of how my mind works. I'm a very technically inclined person so anything that requires me to bs and not follow logic for long periods of time is a nono.

I also find the email list of all the people that took the course the previous semester. By emailing them, I can get a better idea of how the teacher interacts with students based on feedback I receive from them.

HK, I'd probably drive you nuts in class, but I think you'd like my work. I generally give my all in all of my courses. Are you a english professor? If so, then you'd probably love my writing. I'm amazed at how many kids make it into college and don't understand the grammar basics. I had to peer edit an entire paper once that was done in internet short-hand. It even had numbers to replace letters.

DM, really, it's no problem. From people who actually know me and have seen me teach, they say my file under RMP is frickin' hilarious.

Robofreak: that may be true where you are, but here's how to get loved on Rate My Professor where I teach:

NEVER assign homework.
Bring candy to your students.
Show lots of videos
Let them out of class early, every day
Have no attendance policy
Have no late work policy
Give them all As.

I know this is true, because the number one winningest RMP comm coll professor teaches at my school, and I know what he does. I, on the other hand, assign homework, expect students to do the reading, give them quizzes, EVEN on the videos I show, never let them out early, have a strict attendance policy (hey, if I gotta be there, you gotta be there), and don't accept late work. My grades work on a bell curve, so I don't give out a lot of As. I also won't change someone's grade because they 'need' a better GPA to transfer. And I am downright ruthless when it comes to cheating and plagiarism. Hence, my RMP profile has me as an evil psychotic beyotch.

And I teach Freudian theory. Double death.
