That's right, this young guy here is gonna get married! On the 10th of February to be exact.

And it's all gonna happen in the US of A (see my location

). You may have heard of my fiancé, she buys me TF's every once in a while. That's not why I'm marrying her though. She is just the sweetest girl around

Why the big trip you ask? Long story short, combining an immigrating partner and then getting married in Holland is a little hard with our multitude of rules and papers, combined with a seemingly xenophobic gouvernment (don't ask). So instead we're turning it around. Getting married in the US, having it legalised, then immigrating her into Holland. We're taking advantage of a little loophole

I'll be away from the 2nd to the 23rd of February, but I'll be checking every once in a while

Despite the preparations being hectic (Combine less-than-a-year short notice with with one partner having to do everything) it went really well. Everyone loved it. After the party my wife and I spent the night at the "Benji House". Really nice.

From Dallas it's 45 minutes to drive or so. Just take I 30 to US 75 North and you'll hit it straight on

*BUMP* Here's another update!

We just got the marriage certificate legalised in Austin TX (Dallas is not the Texas capitol

) and boy did we misjudge it. First of all finding a free parking spot is a nightmare (Yes we Dutch are cheapskates). We spent a half an hour trying so we eventually settled for a parking meter feeding it an hour. Guess what: the process of legalising it for abroard only took 5 minutes and $ 15.-! I bet the meter was a happy camper

So yeah. Right now we're doing some last minute things like shopping (yay!) before we head back on the 22nd

Yeah, getting a marriage license is ridiculously easy nowadays.

My wife and I were ready to take blood-tests and have our backgrounds checked and all that good stuff, and then when we actually went, some lady asked who our parents were and where abouts they were born and that was it.

Now that i think about it I'm pretty sure we did the same thing with the meter. :lol:
