One of the longest running wishes of many Sci-Fi aficionados (read: geeks) Is a a sequel to Disney's 1982 Computer based film: Tron.

We got a type of sequel with the video Game Tron 2.0

But now we are getting a full fledged film with Tron Legacy.

Jeff Bridges reprises his role as Flynn, the awesome PC genius/Hero of the first film.

Personally I'm giddy as a school girl that this sequel is getting made. Its one of my favorite childhood disnye films, and its wesome they are making a sequel.

And judging by the Trailer it looks to be really awesome.

The Press Conference is here, though a little difficult to listen too. but you can make out most of it with earphones.

I was going to make a thread for Tron Legacy but since it won't be out until 2011, I decided to not bother. I did post up something about it recently though since I was thrilled to hear about the sequel.

Why do I get the feeling that this might be more of a remake than a sequel?

If they made this 10-15 years ago I would have been more excited but my feeling is basically "big fat hairy deal" I loved the orginal Tron but I'm not getting or feeling any excitement for the trailer to Tron Legacy.

I am so warm and fuzzily stoked for this!
Tron still ranks as one of my all time favorite movies. I always loved that sterile, glowing electronic world and the beings who populated it. Geez, I can recite every line of that darn film by rote!
"You've enjoyed all the power you've been given, haven't you?"
"We did take care of that user you sent us..."
"YOU INCOMPETENT ZERO! Now you've got three renegade programs flying all over the system in a stolen simulation!"
And so forth.
Tron 2.0 was a welcome dose of goodness in what had largely become a Tronless world. But this, this is the real deal! And with Bridges too boot!
I hope it ultimately brings honor to the original film and pushes the envelope like its predecessor back in the 80's. :D
