The story of your name?

by Rodimus Prime
What's the story behind your username here? Some of the names I read just make me think, why would someone pick that name? Do the numbers mean anything?

Mine is pretty obvious. On another TF board back in 2001, I was using a different name, and an argument came up regarding the character of Rodimus. 1 guy defending him got teamed up on by 7 or 8 other posters, so I tried to help him. It escalated into a flame war, and I ended up getting banned. I re-registered with a different computer and a different e-mail, and also picked a different name: Rodimus Prime. After a few months, I once again was at the heart of a huge multi-thread flame war, and ended up getting banned. This time, I didn't even go back. Someone had mentioned this site, and I came here and joined the boards using this name, more as a badge of honor and reminder to stick up for what I believe in no matter the odds. I'm not the biggest fan of Rodimus by any means (I do like Hot Rod a lot) but I do have a bit more passion than the average Transfan when it comes to defending him against bashers. Which there are a LOT of online. Not so much here. :)

So, that's my story. Next!

Rodimus gets a hard time altright simply because hes taking ov er from optimus prime. hes a lot to live up to and suffers from a crisses ofd command during his time as leader. i picked ultra magnus because he was the temporary ledaer before rodimus and is a magnificent warrior. rodimus was created in the fires of the ceation matrix but has no real personality other then the fact he has this huge burden of ledaership. i always felt sorry for him. his character should have been fleshed out more. chect out the stories wanted galvatron dead or alive, legacy of unicron, space pirates, time wars and aspects of evil in the uk comic original run for some great rodimus action

When I found the first photo of the Leader Class Movie Megatron back in 07 on the German Hasbro site I wanted to share the news with this site as I used it as my TF news resource. But my dad had his birthday on that day so the phone line kept blocking the internet. And whenever I managed to submit my site membership without getting interrupted by calls congratulation my dad, the name was already taken. So I took out my sketch book and looked at a few TF characters I designed a few years prior and noticed that I was really fond of my TF zombie i had called Dead Metal. He has a bit of a backstory and he's called Dead Metal as he's based on a different fan character with the name Heavy Metal, that was before I knew Heavy Metal was the name of a kind of music. Well I put that in, hit submit and finally managed to post my findings after trying for like 3 hours.

Start from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmX564UTabE

My name was born from the best anime in the world, no... the UNIVERSE, ever bar none, Tekkaman Blade. D-Boy is so awesome he even makes mullet look good.

Originally my handle was Teknoman Midnight or T-Midnight when I played Zelda Online or Graal as it became known. Midnight referred to a fan character I had created within the Tekkaman universe, I was really young at the time so he was a total mary sue that I am rather ashamed of now.

Then a year after that it became Tekkaman Midnight when I started using The Palace before communities.com went tits up and everyone stopped using it.

While on Palace, my name came to be a bit of a mouthful so it was shortened to just Tekka.

I was lucky enough to get "Tekka" on Seibertron, but since it is quite a common nick nowadays I have taken to tagging "Ijuin" on the end or the front, usually making it "ijuintekka". Ijuin refers to Ijuin Rei, the crossdressing rich girl from Tokimeki Memorial.

And that's my story.

Rodimus knows this one, but for everyone else (who doesn't really care)....

"hellcat" is a slightly obsolete term for a feisty woman, generally who makes things difficult for men. I'm my department's hardcore gender theory person, and though I work on masculinity, everyone presumes I'm one of the scary evil man-hatin' feminists. So it's a joke.

But I'm a kinder/gentler type, so it's kitty. Plus, I have the Crazy Cat Lady Starter Kit at home (6 cats) so that's part of it, too.

And it slant rhymes with 'hecate'. Which is groovy. It's one of my old handles--I've alternated between antepathy and hellkitty on the internet for a long time. I've always abbreviated them to two letters. Trivia!

HK, gotta go pretend to teach!

Mine's probably the most mundane story. I used the name in an old Duke Nukem 3D game. I don't even remember how I chose it for that game, but it just came to mind. Anyway, when I joined here at Seibertron, it seemed like a fitting name. I'd never used it at any other board, just here.

Despite popular belief, my name is not based on the boss from MegaMan. In fact, I was entirely unaware of that when I first created it. I just made "Shadowman" because I thought it sounded cool. (I was 13, and it's not hard to think something's cool at that age) I've changed it for holidays a few times, but stopped after a handful of posters did the same thing and ended up losing their regular names because someone would register with the regular name so they couldn't change back. I've thought about changing it to something else, but then everyone knows me by this name for the almost 7 years I've been here. (I think I need a new hobby)

My tale isn't terribly interesting so I'll keep it short. Snarl was my favorite Dinobot and I love the Dinobots and Prime (not the most original, I know). I really liked the irony of a Dinobot (especially one other than Grimlock) being Prime. So I started out as Snarlus Prime on the boards back in the day.

As we were gearing up for the Iron Man movie I thought I would update/alter my screen name in sig in honor of the movie since Iron Man is my fav. super hero. BAM! Iron Prime. It's hard to keep track of people so I have now vowed not to change my screen name again.

Ok my name story very not interesting.

Carrie is the name of Stephen King's first book. And I like that Carrie totally gets her own back at the end. (Boy I wish I had telekenesis) MUS is actually an abbreviation used for 'Medically Unexplained Symptoms' which I thought fit me perfectly. Prime is pretty much obvious I like Optimus Prime. It fits well really. Although I bet you thought I'd just copied Optimus Prime---> Carriemus prime?... You were wrong :P

I originally joined the boards quite a long time ago. I had trouble thinking up something cool or original regarding Transformers, so I just took my yahoo name, cowboy_fan_forever and abbreviated it to cbff to fit in the username box here. After a while, I thought that was pretty lame so I started thinking.

In high school, a friend of mine used to call me Fender Bender as a play on my last name, Feind. I figured since we have Sideswipe in the Transformers mythos that another name for a crash would work pretty well.

I've stuck with it since.

my name was apparantly not user friendly, klimkc**. i use c**kmilk or its reverse spelling on most sites (youtube, facebook, myspace, ect.), but seibs didn't like that too much, so they made me Name_Violation. i gotta admit, the name really grew on me. besides the things people come up with on their own is often much worse tahn the truth. i've never had a desire to change it to anything else. i now use name_violation or N_V on most sites where kids might be lurking now.

I was born with a flipper of a left hand, and ironically I'm left handed, but that's a different story. Instead of fingers I just have 4 nubs and a claw for a thumb. I wanted a username that was original and didn't need a number tacked on the end. Then out of the dark recesses of my mind the Earthworm Jim character Evil the Cat popped into my head so I tweaked it to something better suited for me.

:BOT: When I first had access to the internet, I discovered all the Japanese Transformers releases and discovered Optimus Prime was called Convoy. Then I learned about characters like Rodimus Convoy, Leo Convoy, Big Convoy, Fire Convoy, etc.

I felt "Supreme Convoy" was almost a natural progression. :CON:

My name comes from mixing "Convoy" and "Megatron". I read about this in Guiltaur's wiki entry as it was apparently an early name for the concept that would eventually become Guiltaur.

I'm a G1 fan and as such, Optimus Prime/Convoy and Megatron are my childhood's ultimate good guy and bad guy. The mixing of a great good and great evil isn't new but I like the concept of Guiltaur as a zombified fusion of Convoy's body and Megatron's specifications.

So here comes Convotron. Rawr.

This old topic again? Always fun.

Around 2001, I came across this site while looking for Beast wars related material and found the board to be a fun place. Needing a name, I decided to name my self after my favorite figure at the time, which was a BW Transmetal Locust named Scourge. Unfortunately, since RiD was on at the time, there were dozens of 'Scourge's on the site already. Needing a way to differentiate myself, I somehow decided to make Scourge into a clown, just for the fun of it. From that, the name was just a half-assed idea that I stuck with. After that, all my other names were usually variations on the locust name.

For those curious, here's sig#4. the original Happy Locust is on the left.

by It Is Him
I came up with the handle "It Is Him" for a friend's message board in 2001. There was a lot of mean-spirited teasing on the board that was directed entirely at me. Once, the friend posted my home address on a gay singles board on Yahoo. He included directions to my house with a note that read "I like surprise visits." You can bet I was pissed at the time, but looking back, it really cracks me up.

Originally we posted under our real names. But after the board died, there was an effort to revitalize it at another address. Before long, people were wondering why I hadn't signed up yet. Recalling the pranks, I chose the tag "It Is Him" because I assumed the same shenanigans would happen again. It did. After my first post, the friend posted pics from goatce as wide as the screen. #-o

Eight years later, I realized the tag "It Is Him" is grammatically incorrect. Technically it should read "It Is He" because is, is a linking verb and requires a subjective pronoun, not an objective pronoun. I refuse to change it.

Well, Armada Blurr was my favorite character at the time, and it still is, so I've kept the username. That and the fact that 'Blurr' was already taken, and I felt that I didn't really need to differentiate that I was just an Armada Blurr fan, I just stuck with Blurrz. All in all I've liked it. The username is fitting for me. I have a tendency to talk a bit fast sometimes, and I type a bit fast too. Heck, I even move a tad bit fast than others. Heck, i'm on the edge1 :mrgreen: And... time for a history of my signature images;

and Wheelie P's turn

Someone joked me on another transformers site to change my name to Wheelie for a year. so i took it one step better and went to Wheelimus Prime. when i found seibs, i went with Primacron12 (that in itself is history lesson), and someone brought up Wheelimus Prime here. they even apparent;y drew an image of their verson of Wheelimus Prime (I am pretty sure it was done as a commission for me, i can't remember). and thus Wheelimus Prime was borne.

faster, better, stronger than any wheelie before him

by Venomous Prime
Originally I was Hun-Grrr, he's my favorite Terrorcon and my favorite G1 figure. The name was available at the time I joined, so I used it.

I then changed it to A7XMaggot. At the time, Avenged Sevenfold still kicked ass and I'm a huge Slipknot fan(AKA maggot), so it fit.

Then I became CYNner I believe. There was a band on Battle for Ozzfest named Cynder. They changed their name to Curse Your Name due to copyright issues. I talked to the singer for a short time and I really like the band. So I chose that

Then I was Nemesis-Prime. Changed it to avoid confusion with Nemesis Prime, who now goes by Badwolf I believe

I then became Venomous Prime(due to my love of Venom from Marvel and evil Primes). I stayed that name for a long time.

Then I became Apollyon, which is an alternate name for Abaddon, the Angel Over The Abyss. Redimus kept calling me Apolygon, so that name didn't last to long

I went back to Venomous Prime.

I can't remember what name I went to after that, but I know I eventually became original sin. Which is what I still use.

The original sin is the fall of man. Its also the name of the Kevin Thorn's finishing move. He's one of my favorite wrestlers. Plus, the name had a nice ring to it. So I chose it.

Some people still call me Veep though
