Something, Something, Something, Dark Side" is an upcoming hour-long episode of the FOX animated series Family Guy and the sequel episode to the Star Wars parody "Blue Harvest". It will retell the story of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back as "Blue Harvest" did with Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, recasting characters from Family Guy into roles from the film. It was originally scheduled to air as the 7th season finale, but has been pushed back to season 8. Like the previous installment, the poster for "Dark Side" is based on the design of an actual Star Wars poster. It is set to be released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on December 22, 2009.

» The original title of the upcoming Return of the Jedi spoof that they are already working on was originally titled Episode VI: The Great Muppet Caper, but they thought it might be too confusing for people who might be trying to buy the actual Great Muppet Caper. So the title is now We Have a Bad Feeling About This.
» Something, Something, Something Darkside comes out in Christmas 2009, if they get it done in time.
» Dominic Polcino is the director, who also directed the Star Wars spoof Blue Harvest.
» Fan-favorite actor James Woods is returning to Family Guy in an hour-long whodunit Clue episode coming up, and he also has a cameo role in Something, Something, Something Darkside.
» During Q&A a fan asked if they all enjoy working together. Show creator Seth MacFarlane answered, “We actually do enjoy working with each other. This is a really closely-knit group and we all socialize at lot more than most would on a TV show.” Then the voice actors Seth Green, Mila Kunis, and Alex Borstein agree with MacFarlane by tackling each other with hugs and kisses for the crowd’s enjoyment.

Hmmm. Interesting.
I haven't watched the show since Peter slaughtered James the Cat with a straight razor, but interesting nonetheless....

I've known about this since it was announced. One thing they didn't mention was that Ernie the Giant Chicken is taking the role of Boba Fett, which is perfect since Peter is Han Solo, so they can have a lengthy fist-fight through Cloud City.

I am all for another fist fight, but wouldn't it make more sense to wait and have it in the ROTJ spoof with Peter knocking Ernie into the pit and after they escape, Ernie starting to emerge from the pit as a nod to the EU?

Why not do both? The only problem with the two fighting in Cloud City is that I think it would seriously overshadow the Chris/Stewie fight. Though Stewie seems to fight a bit more like Yoda than Vader, so they might be able to make that fight a bit more interesting.
