I just discovered of this taking place. Apparently, they have been re-creating DBZ by updating the style to be a modern technique and taking out all of the filler. It will go through all of the series, but it will be 100 episodes instead of 291. It appears that this has been taking place since April.

This is some old news. Really old. So old, I actually forgot about it until just now.
The best part is, only 100 episodes. The reason DBZ was so long was because it was running concurrent with the manga; you can't adapt something that hasn't been published, so filler was made. Fights were extended, new story arcs were created, new scenes, etc. Cutting that in half cuts out all of the filler, which is the only real problem with DBZ.

Exactly, which is why I am so excited to hear of this taking place.

I agree with that statement. Watching DBZ is what got me into anime and I out of the now nearly 50 total anime shows that I now own it is still my favorite.
