Apparently the 80s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be meeting the current Ninja Turtles. "Intercepted" images
here and more news
here. Apparently the poster was overshadowed by the Disney/Marvel news.
This could be kinda cool...

This looks it could be fun. I'll always give TMNT a chance.

A friend pointed out on the top right side above the building, the
original comic Turtles are fighting on the roof!
Amazing.

What a weird concept. TBH I think I'd rather just have the old turtles back.

If they do this right it could be awesome. But I get the feeling it'll be screwed up/kiddied up (Leo can't hit with his swords, he kicks with them shining from the light.)
I'll watch this. I'm actually looking forward to it. lol

To be honest, TMNT has been kiddied up to varying degree ever since adaptation has been made from the original Eastman and Laird comic. No matter how much people try to take the Turtles back to their gritty indie origins, it always has the influence, for better or worse, of the multi-colored bandanna mainstream era of the characters to contend with.
Unless I see red bandannas and a gritty approach to both the art and the script, I know what I'm getting into. I'm expecting some degree of silliness and "kid safe violence". It's just the way it's going to go so what I'm hoping for is a decent plot and a fun time in this crossover.
Now this crossover may include the original TMNT or make nods to them but look at the main cast on the poster. It's the cartoon TMNT from the 80s and 2000s. So it appears it's going to be kid friendly. The poster art should be enough to set people's expectations. If there is more to the crossover than the typical cartoon TMNT kid friendly approach, I'll be presently surprised.

I see Tokka and Rahzar. Does that mean Vanilla Ice will be in it too?

I love the Turtles.. But I am asking myself why?? Why team up the originals and the more recent ones?
I mean it is not like teaming up the two Voltron forces as they were separate entities..
The only way this could be possible is some sort of parallel universe or dimension..

Or time travel... Or a wizard did it.

Even though several of us here don't trust Wikipedia that much, here's the list of character the Wiki claims have been "confirmed to appear":
Wikipedia wrote:Mirage Comics Characters- Donatello
- Leonardo
- Michelangelo
- Raphael
- Shredder
1987 Series Characters- April O'Neil
- Bebop
- Donatello
- Foot Soldiers
- Krang
- Leonardo
- Michelangelo
- Raphael
- Rocksteady
- Shredder
- Splinter
2003 Series Characters- April O'Neil
- Casey Jones
- Donatello
- Foot Soldiers
- Hun
- Karai
- Leonardo
- Michelangelo
- Police Officers Eastman and Laird
- Purple Dragons
- Raphael
- Utrom Shredder (Ch'rell)
- Splinter
- Rahzar
- Tokka
Miscellaneous- Kevin Eastman
- Peter Laird
Though, this list makes it sound like there will be three sets of Turtles instead of two. So, I'm still a bit skeptical on some of these.
But still, this whole idea is just outrageous! It's like if G1 crossed over with RiD, or Armada, or Animated. It's something that's just so out there that it seems completely ridiculous that it's actually happening. It's incredible, wonderful, insane, unbelievable, and just downright wacky! It's like a fanboy's wet dream come true!

Could be good could be a bunch of crap. I wonder what my sisters reaction will be when I tell her this news. She loves the old school TMNT.

This crossover reminds me of Robot Masters. It's a big party where all eras of a franchise get together and have a grand ol' time.

Looking at the
poster again, I noticed something. There
are twelve Turtles pictured, not just eight. Look closely, to the right of the Technodrome, standing on one of the city building are four more shadowed Turles armed with their weapons. These could be the Mirage Comics versions mentioned before.

What the crack? I guess this could be the current Turtles in their universe travelling through other Universes, kind of like G1 Cliffjumper into the Shattered Glass universe, but this is just messed up...

Found a clip of the 80's Turtles's new voices:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5iy1CMr--QLeonardo - Dan Green
Donatello - Anthony Haden Salerno
Raphael - Sebastian Arcelus
Michelangelo - Johnny Castro
IMO, Leo sounds different, but okay. Don and Raph sound extremely similar to their old voices. And Mikey sounds very close too, but not as close as Don and Raph.

The best part of the youtube clip was the NES theme music for the NES TMNT game.

The voices were alright, not world class voice acting but I don't think it should be. To capture the 80s TMNT, you need to be cheesy. It's too bad the original voice actors aren't able to reprise their roles.
