Hopefully I spelled their name right. I've spelled it quite a few different ways. I would rather not disrespect them in that nature.

Not many Japanese bands are focused on to much in the States(Except Dir En Grey), but a few years ago my ex showed me the band Maximum The Hormone and I fell for their catchy riffs and unique nu metal esque vibe they gave off.

My question for you fine folks is, who is the "goth" band at the beginning of this video? Are they just actors or are they a real band collaborating with Maximum?

If the "goth" guy is really singing, I really like his voice and would love to track down some music by them as well.

Dir en grey has 5 members, the band in the video has four.

It's still Maximum the Hormone. They were in costume to make fun of the Visual Kei band "Nightmare", that performed the first Death Note opening. The video shows them being killed off by Kira.

The guitarist is a bigger guy with a lot of hair...there is no way he is one of the people in the beginning

Yeah, but it's still them singing. So you're not going to find anything by "that goth guy".
