My oldest daughter received these text messages from this number ( blocked out her name)

447-536-285017
011-447-536-285017

Look ****** you Dont know me but me and my friends have been watching you for a while now, we watch as you go to school and to your friends. All I want is to talk to you for 15min then i leave you alone if you say no then we will come to your house and belive me you dont want that dontr tell anyone about this and text me back when in your room so I can talk back to you.

Ok we just wait and get you when you dont expect it and belive me we will do a lot more than just talk. Do i make myself clear. So you think about it and talk on the phone or wait till we get you outside

We did some research on the number and this is what we found out.

http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/447529530437

http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/447536285017

http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-011-447-8511

We called the local police and they are taking a report on it.

So if you have teenagers with cell phones be on the lookout.

Eeek, that's scary. I seriously hope nothing bad comes of this CB, and I wish you well in dealing with it.

Most likely, and looking back on the reports from that number seems to confirm my theory somewhat, some idiot's going through social networking sites picking up phone numbers and names.

Assuming you haven't done so already, get that number changed. Many contracts will allow for that if the current phone number is proven to be a safety liability, although you may have to talk to someone higher up the chain to get that to happen. Then make sure she doesn't post that new number all over facebook or wherever.

All the best during these scary times CB

None of her contact information is on facebook or any other social site.

I inquired with a couple of the victims and none of them had their numbers listed on any social site. The calls seem completely random and they all say the same thing.
We think the reason he mentioned her by name is because of her cell phone answer message (she has since changed it).
He called 5 times while she was in school then texted her 3 times and she did not see the calls or texts until school was over. So the perception as to how he knew her by name is him listening to her answer message and this is the same belief with the police too.

We watch her myspace and facebook very closely (I have all passwords).

But if someone is serious and wants to play, I have a 9mm and some rounds with their name on it.

Smart man CB on the facebook monitoring. It's freaking scary out there.

Another possibility is that this guy/guys are scammers and/or pranksters. From a brief look on google, calls from 447 are UK-based cell phones, so there is very little chance of you having to use that 9mm.

THere's actually quite a lot of crap coming from those types of phones, almost makes government-enforced crackdowns seem worth it.

Frightening and needless. I hope whoever's doing it gets what's coming to them for the simple crime of scaring a child and their parents like that.

Wrong and pointless. I can't really think to what gain this person is working toward besides some things I'd rather not venture toward. But how they acquired that number and what kind of rotten meat they must have to actually harass the owner is worrying.

I'm hoping my cynicism is misplaced when I hear you say you've got people on the case. I'm predisposed to imagine them filing the report away somewhere and forgetting it. Or worse, not finding anything at all.

Best of luck catching the guy though.

The only people I have is the police that I filed a report with. The links I have provided have chronicled this person, the number's call history and whatever law enforcement is investigating this case. Filing a police report is the right thing to do REGARDLESS if they cannot catch this guy. It is on report.
They take harassing calls, texts, emails very serious now a days. This is per the officer that showed up at our house.

As long as you don't have any info on any of those social sites you should be ok.

We live in the information age.. There are plenty of ways to snoop around and get information like cell phones and such.

That's scary. Is he still calling? If so, answer the phone yourself next time he calls. Don't think he'll be so cocky when he gets hold of the dad instead of the daughter.

Or lend it to the police? Dunno.

Looking around, this guy's got himself noticed. It's only a matter of time before Perverted Justice catch up with him.

He has not called since the other day. She put a block on his number so if he calls it it will be rejected.

That's terrfifying.
What's worse is that people joke about it.
My...um, extremely close friend...'s brother yoinked my phone number and made a a fake serial killer call. Not to say it was serious like your issue CB, because I could hear her in the background laughing the whole time, but still, I fail to see the humor.

I do feel guilty about texting sometimes because I can't tell my parents what exactly it is I'm saying...
Don't get the wrong idea there, though.

I've always wanted to put my 1st Dan Blackbelt in TKD to good use. If you need any cabs busted, I'm game.

Seriously though, this day and age, some teenage girls are just not being smart here. Some just want attention, so they basically ship themselves out over social networking sites. I'm not saying your daughter, CB does that, or any of your daughters of folks here do that sort of thing, but it's just unfortunate that some have set themselves up for this.

Facebook and that's it.

short of a mother and father, hell hath no fury like an over protective brother. i got 4 "lil" sisters (and 4 "lil" bro's) that know I'm more than willing to do a prison term to protect them. I was more of a parent to them than mom and they all know that. i'm the one who they still talk to. hell 3 of my sis' are in college and still know if ANYTHING goes bad they call me.

I fully support and endorse any bad things that happen to the sicko sending the messages.

I found out more info about this person, it seems that his calls are random.. He picks numbers and calls them until he gets his desired results..
