A Clark County woman recently called 911 to report a drunk driver, but it turns out, she was the one under the influence.

Dispatcher: Clark County 911

Mary Strey: Somebody's really drunk driving down Granton Road...

Dispatcher: ...Which way are they going?

Mary Strey: They are going, um...

Dispatcher: Towards Granton or towards Neillsville?

Mary Strey: Towards Granton

Dispatcher: Okay are you behind them, or...

Mary Strey: No, I am them

Dispatcher: You am them?

Mary Strey: Yes, I am them

Dispatcher: Okay, so you want to call and report that you're driving drunk?

Mary Strey: Yes

Deputies say 49-year-old Mary Strey from Granton made the call and did pull over when the dispatcher asked her to. A deputy had her do field sobriety tests.

The report shows she blew a 0.17, nearly twice the legal limit for driving. Deputies ticketed her for OWI, her first offense.

Deputies say when she called, she was about 2 and a half miles from home on Miller Road.

The story has spread like wildfire now. I find it hilarious.

(For the record, the majority of my extended family are drunks, most of which I'm GLAD I never talk to)

Well,l I'm pleased that they decided to report themselves, but then again why would they do it in the first place?

That's just nuts. FB must have some interesting family reunions

Yeah, we don't do those reunion things.

As for CP, sorry to hear that. I've known several people myself that have been killed or lost a friend or family member to drunk drivers.

In fact, one of my cousins was. His name was Paul (one of the decent members of my family). He was driving a motorcycle and got turned into hamburger by a drunk driver that ran a stop sign.

A drunk driver wrapped her car around a telephone poll Saturday right outside my coworker's house. Because she was drunk, she didn't tense at the moment of impact: she walked away. (Well, til my coworker grabbed her and held her until the police showed up), Nobody got hurt in that story, but it always cheezes me off that the alcohol actually helps them SURVIVE these accidents. If she'd hit a van full of people, they'd've seen her coming, tensed, and been more seriously injured.

I think the story posted is hilarious, and a perfect reflection of our society. We 'know' right from wrong, but we don't follow it. I had students write papers a few weeks ago: several of them wrote about how dangerous it is to text while driving. So I asked, well, how many of you text and drive? ALL of them. ALL OF THEM. So...hypocrisy, I asked. Nope. They see NO disconnect in knowing something's dangerous, and doing it anyway and feeling perfectly okay about it.

HK, freaky.

I was reading in the paper the other day that a woman walked into a police station and handed them her keys, saying she was drunk and had been sitting in her car sobbing about her life and how she didn't want to "drive drunk". She got arrested.

Turns out sitting in your car drunk classes as drunk driving, even if the keys aren't in the ignition.

But good on her and that woman from Clark for putting a stop to their antics before they killed themselves or someone else.

Just so you know, the clip was used on British news satire game-show 'Have I Got News For You' just recently.

Congrats FB, Top ten lists and cross continental new files.
The drunkenness of your family is now truly a spectacle for the ages. (or at least 2009)

At least it should die down now we are in the new year. (or it ends up on a cop show)(or mentioned on a Ron White album)(or any of the other members of the red neck comedy tour for that matter.)
