DC Universe Classics Discussion thread

Since these toys are so popular I decided that they needed a discussion thread.

Lately it seems that the distribution of the most recent waves (seems like it is starting with wave 9) has been absolute crap.
The most recent wave 9 (Giganta BAF) and wal mart exclusive wave 10 (Chemo BAF) has been a very tough find.

What are your favorite figs so far from this line?
Mine are (in no particular order)
Black Canary
Etrigan
Cyborg Superman
The Joker (wave 10)
Hawkman
Darkseid

There are so many from this line that I like it is really hard to call favorites..

Thank you for doing this thread! And you are absolute right! Distribution is terrable. As I indicated in my "Collectors" thread I haven't even seen Wave 8 around in South GA. I've been wanting Vigilante but I'm not willing to pay internet prices (even though BBTS does have a good price!) By some miracle I found Batman and the Joker at my local Walmart the other day. Still wish I could find Man-Bat but if I don't oh well. The Target around here sux too. As you probably know Target supposed to have "Public Enemies" My local Target does seem to have any intention of carrying these. The other Targets I've searched in Macon, Augusta, and Aiken only have the Infinite Crisis figures w/ the exception of one that had 1 large Superman. It's frustrating cause I want Batman.

Most of the time if I want figures bad enough I'll order them through BBTS. But they wouldn't carry Wave 10 and there's no other figues I've wanted bad enough. I like the big players. I have bought some of the lesser known (recent example being Power Girl). I might order Stepphenwolf just cause I had the Super Powers version. Generally I prefer to get them in stores. Mattycollectors.com should make them available on their site! Seems like I'm rambling so I'll just say I want them to make Martian Manhunter, Dick Grayson as Robin, Ras Al Gul; Zod (preferably something close to the movie version)

Also I think they should make these side characters and put them in two packs on mattycollectors.com: Lois Lane & Jimmy Olson; Comissioner Gordon & Batman; Alfred and Batman (w/out mask); Lex Luthor (in business suit) vs. Superman; and Bruce Wayne (in business suit) & ???.

I just counted my DCU Figure Collection which started back in 2003 with the Batman collection. I have 60 figures! That doesn't include figures I don't include like Terry MacGinnes Batman, Brainiac (DC SUPERHEROES) and my extra Supermen and Batmen of molds I didn't like.

Is there a site that has a gallery of all the figures produced so far?

There used to be for DC Superheroes. I'd suggest doing a internet search.

Thanks for the link CB.

I know the Wal Mart I work at has the Man-Bat figure, I think I'm going to pick it up. I've always had a soft spot for the character. There are so many great looking figures!

I think I'm going to try and track down the following...

Series 1
The Demon
Red Tornado

Series 2
Aquaman(I'd kinda like to have the variant though)
Harley Quinn
Superman Blue
Superman Red
Lobo(doubt I can find him for cheap...)

Series 3
Deathstroke
Nightwing
Robin
Green Lantern

Series 4
Batman Beyond(God I miss that show!)
I like the Despero, but none of the other figures really look appealing enough for me to buy just for his pieces. Plus, I hate Wonder Woman

Series 5
The Riddler
Eradicator
Black Lightning
Azrael

Series 6
Killer Moth
Superman Recovery Suit
Superman Long Hair
The Dr Impossible figure is awesome looking!

Series 7
Aquaman(man that costume looks awesome)
Kid Flash
Booster Gold(I'd like to get both variants)
Captain Cold
Flash
I mentioned most of the series, but I don't like Big Barda or the Blue Beetle that's there, so I don't think I can get Atom Smasher even though he's frikkin sweet looking.

Series 8
Commander Steel(never even heard of the character, I just like the look of the figure really)
Dr Fate(both variants look awesome, so either one works)
Mr Terrific
Vigilante
Ultraman

Series 9
Deadshot
Green Arrow

Series 10
Beast Boy
Joker
Power Girl
Man-Bat

Series 11
John Stewart
Cyborg Superman
Deadman
Kilowog(I really want him!)

Few more questions.

Has Series 11 been released? On the site it just says 2009 with no month attached. My store just started carrying Man-Bat and Beast Boy so I'm assuming we're either behind or something.

Also a question for anyone with Mr Terrific, those floating T's he comes with, they aren't attached to him are they? That could probably ruin the figure for me. He looks cool besides those.

I found Superman Red and Blue cheap on Amazon. I'll probably pick them up on pay day, which I think will be the day before Thanksgiving since I have direct deposit. Might pick up Man Bat and Beast Boy if they're still at my store tomorrow

I went to a wal mart last night and finished wave 10.. I really like Robotman for some reason.. I guess it is because I used to read Doom Patrol years ago.

Here's my list:
Since I've been collecting from the beginning there's few older ones that I want. I now wish I had gotten the Atom from Series 5 but that's about it.

Series 9Black Adam?
Deadshot

Series 11
John Stewart GL
Cyborg Superman
Steppenwolf (SuperPowers variant)
Batman
Superman?

Series 12
Spectre?

Public Enemies (Target exclusives)
Batman (black) x 2

Supergirl vs. Lex Luthor 2-pack - already on preorder from BBTS

Series 13
Superboy (Connor) - this is only rumored to come out at this point

Martian Manhunter (whenever they freakin make him!)

Got Public Enemies Batman a few days ago. Have to say I'm a little disappointed with the quality. Of the 2 figues, one has a messed up Bat symbol and the other got scratched up too easily.

For thr first time since January my area has gotten new DCUC figures

I picked up Wave 10 Batman and at my Target we got in a new case featuring Black Canary,Hawkgirl,Flash and Green Arrow

I have to grab Hawkgirl and Flash first and hopefully get the others soon

Keep the faith, it seems that Targets are getting odd cases but from everything I have seen you should be able to eventually finish wave 8 and 9..
Target near me has had at least 2 of each fig from those waves since black Friday.
And good thing is they sell out!!! So as long as the figs sell, they will continue to get more (wave 11 and 12 soon..)

I'm spotty on what I buy of these.

I really only buy my favorite characters and some I don't even by of those because I find the lack of accessories boring.

A few of my favorties:

Deathstroke, and his variant
Deadshot
Green Arrow
Hawkman
Hawkgirl
Harley Quinn
Black Manta

I have others, but I feel the lack of accessories is a factor that bores me with them. I have been enjoying DCU more than Marvel lately, and having this line is helpful in supporting my comic habit.

I'm a bigger fan of the Animated DCU figures. Just picked up the Thangarian War 6-pack at Target for 30% off, and the Apache Chief, Samurai, and Black Lightning figure set (loved Challenge of the Superfriends as a child, and loved the Justice League Unlimited series).

Late in the evening on Dec 30th My 5 year old came running into my room and said "daddy there is a package for you".

I immediately knew what it was.

I tore open the figs and put Kilowog together..
I received the standard Deadman (not worried about the variant).
And looking at the back of the package the 80's Steppenwolf is the regular fig.

Sometime during this week the wal mart I work at got a shipment of DCU figures in, Wave 11. There was ONE Cyborg Superman. I don't have any money, so I was hoping, hoping, hoping, that it would last until next Thursday which is my pay day. It was gone the next day...

Until wave 11 is saturated they won't sit on the pegs long..

I just didn't think that Cyborg Superman would be gone that fast.

When these first hit petty much all of them disappear until everyone gets their fill.
Wave 10 at one point's hottest fig was man Bat.. Now since that wave is saturated in the market he is a lot easier to find now.
